These are the two versions of SP 1205 posted on alt.binaries.multimedia. What's the difference between them (besides 20,186 bytes)?

They were probably pirated by different people.

As it happens they were pirated by the same person. The first file contained CRC errors that were fixed in the second (repacked) one.
As for the "pirating" issue, let me say that "South Park" is broadcast after some delay outside the happy borders of the US of A and in many countries it is not broadcast at all. In that respect then, abmm is providing a beneficial service. And for the record, as soon as a season's DVD is issued and I've got it, I delete all of that season's files from my system.

No need to mess around with that stuff any more, folks. Matt and Trey recently made every episode available at http://www.southparkstudios.com. They claimed they were tired of having to watch their own show on-line illegally. Enjoy!

On a brighter note, I just bought a DVD player that plays DivX and XVid. Now I just have to burn the avi files to the DVD instead of converting them to DVD format (which takes a couple of hours). It's much more enjoyable watching the new episodes on the TV rather than the PC, not least for the comfy chair.

Common practice for intellectual property that is broadcast (BBC does the same). Since Comedy Central is not available outside the US, neither is it on Internet.

There's a screen that displays when you try to access from the UK. It has a picture of the queen from the snuke episode, and a caption that says "sorry, England". It also says that streaming will be available for the UK "soon", IIRC.
Glad to hear you'll have access soon. However, I still don't understand why the feature wasn't made available to everyone at the start.

Well, its the only way I (and many others) will ever get to see it with any certainty - and like you, all they have to do is release it on DVD and I'd buy it. So, no guilt here I'm afraid.
