Tonight's episode was, without a doubt, one of the worst episodes of South Park of all time. While the beginning and the last act were funny, thanks to Cartman doing a spoof of the Wild Wild West film, which opened the same day as SP:BLU, the rest was pure crap.

Trey and Matt must have thought that they can make a good episode if the only regular boy to appear was Cartman, with him being on of the central characters. They are so wrong. SP relies not only on Cartman's humor, but also on Stan and Kyle's smarts and Kenny's constant deaths or near deaths. Thus, by not showing the other three kids at all, they ended up making an awful episode.

If next week's episode features Stan only, then I bet I will be extremely pissed with that and the two episodes after that, since I believe there will be a pattern here.

damn--i can't believe the number of people that thought last night's ep sucked just because stan, kyle, and kenny weren't in it. i thought it was funny as hell (and a lot better than last week's ep). i think it's great that they had an episode with only cartman. trey himself has said something to the effect of "i guess they just want cartman to be fat every week and kenny to die every week..." in reference to the fans who were pissed off at the T&P episode last season. it's about time they tried something different--it kills me how people complain about how the show is boring or going downhill or getting old or whatever and when they do something different they complain about that. (i'm not directing that at the person i replied to, just in general).

do you think cartman is the only one that is humorous? the show isn't funny *just* because of the character's personalities. it's funny because of all the references and the things that take place. when a show starts relying on particular events (like kenny's deaths) to be the funny part or particular character traits just to keep a familiarity with the audience then *that's* when it starts to go downhill (ex: the last few seasons of SNL)

i know i have no credibility in this ng because i'm a lurker but i felt i had to defend what i thought was a great episode...

If the "mostly" bit was also used in Star Wars (haven't seen it, wouldn't know), then Lucas must have gotten it from the same place SouthPark did.

Then what? You stop watching the show? I love it when people get "pissed" about stuff like this. I mean, the show is free entertainment.. If it isn't up to your standards, stop watching it. I thought last night's episode was funny. It wasn't the funniest episode ever, or even of the season, but it was still entertaining. You don't HAVE to have all four kids in a episode. Shit, if I were Trey and Matt, I would make a half-hour episode of just Kenny mumbling, just to piss some of you people off. :)

Oh yeah! It would be like when everyone got so pissed about Not Without My Anus. Which imho (that's MY opinion, folks, don't care that much about yours!) was a great episode! I still laugh when I watch it!

I wasn't there to be pissed off at it. I saw it the first time about three weeks ago or so, when it reran...I loved it!

How true...it's starting to sound kind of like the Simpsons boards I'm on...or the music boards even...people think the artists OWE them something...well, if you don't like the direction their in, move on.

It's true...I liked it even tho my fave character wasn't in it...it had some really good moments =)
