The alt.tv.southpark Presidential Elections

Allright, We have an FAQ keeper and PLEDGE keeper(Covenant) and an Anti-troll reponce enforcer(Jeff Plas) but what this NG really needs is a president. So I decided, "Why not have an election?" so here it is. This is the official thread where you Nominate the Presidentil Elects.

Rules: -Only PLEDGEers may Nominate and run for President. -The Presidential elect must have a running mate. -You cannot nominate yourself. -There is 4 Political Parties. They include: The Fanfic Party The Kenny McCormick Party The Cookie Party The Trey Parker Party -You may not have unrealistic promises in your Campaign. -You must have a webpage for your Campaign.

If any other Ideas for rules, post them with (RULES) included in the reply's Title.

Now, post the Nominations!

Ok, exactly what promises could then be made? Again going back to my first question of what the office of President entails. Also, I don't think it's fair that one must have a website for the Campaign. I suggest, however, that seniority and level of activity would be a better criterion. Those who can run should have been actively participating (not just lurking and reading posts) in this newsgroup for a set number of months and have a certain number of posts.

Another question...some of the Party names should be altered as to be more encompassing and descriptive of the personalities and people on this NG.

A fanfic a day? Ummm on a normal basis we get more than one fanfic a day already.....we gotta think of something better.

3 months sounds fair enough.....and of course level of participation is included. One has to go through the entire newsgroup and see the person's name appear many times-say, a minimum of 15 times or something like that.

Problem: like anyone is gonna listen to the fake "president" of a newsgroup. Great though this group is, authority requires presence, this is the net - YOU CAN'T CONTROL PEOPLE. Okie?

Thanks a lot! Really, though, it's nice to be appreciated. I honestly think that the troll (and troll-response) posts have diminished since the pledge's inception. I can't take any of the credit, though. I love my work! Oh, and, by the way.... I've been here for over four months now and I've been posting pretty regularly... And I was the president of the student council my senior year... I think the Plas/Covenant (or Covenant/Plas) ticket would sound nice. But, sigh, I'm not allowed to nominate mySELF...... Oh well.
