Did any one recognize the Titanic parallel?

After watching 6/17 episode for the second time, when the bus is going over the cliff in the end, it really reminded me of in Titanic. First of all, the bus hangs over the side and all the children run up to the front of the bus from right to left, just like they did in the movie. Then the bus breaks and the first half falls off the cliff, followed by the front of the bus, exactly the way the ship breaks and sinks in the movie, anybody else agree?

And add to that that one of the kids fell thru the back bus window similar to the people falling in the upright stern scene in Titanic.

It seemed so apparent to me that it was an homage to TITANIC, all the kids running to the front, the kid falling thru the window, the splitting & the slight hesitation before going down. None of the other pics have ALL those combinations.

The stuff about the people hanging might be from Lost World but the way the bus snapped in half is Titanic. If you remember in the Lost World the trailer is two parts connected together, not one trailer broken in half. But the bus breaks in half just like in Titanic. I think it is a parody of both.

To be honest, the Titanic reference I thought of was in "Summer Sucks", when chaos and disaster occurs after the snake was lit. Kyle takes up his violin and starts playing, followed by Stan, and then the rest of the class. I thought this was similar to Titanic's band continuing to play as the ship was sinking. By any chance, does anyone know if Kyle and co. were playing "Nearer my God to Thee" like in Titanic? -Toni

A while ago people were saying that in "City on the edge of Forever" , when the bus was hanging over the cliff, that reminded them of "Titanic". Don't ask me why

The pickup truck pulling up the tractor trailer was the stupidest thing I ever saw in the movies. The trailer weighs at least five times as much as the truck, so when the truck starts spinning its wheels, the truck would be dragged down the cliff, alongside the trailer. Lost World SUCKED.

Really? I just checked for my TV listings on line, for what ep Global is showing this Thursday, and it is that episode!!! Hasn't the title been changed, or something, to "City on the Edge of Forever"? If it has, than that is the ep we'll be seeing this week! And I was so glad to finally see the "Chickenlover" ep too! Looks like we'll be getting new shows on Global for the next couple of Thursdays!! WOOHOO! Ain't that sweet? In the book (Maybe the movie too, I saw it a while ago) The Lost World (by Michael Crichton), the trailer is haning off the edge. One half falls, but the other half doesn't. The City on the Edge of Forever scenario is a lot like that...

In the movie there are actually two trailers, not one.  Only one goes off the
cliff.  It wasn't a Titanic reference, either.
    "The Lost World" was a total rip-off of the book, which was fantastic.  The
book was packed with swear words, gore, well-written dialogue, and key
information and characters that weren't even mentioned in the movie.
    Sorry to get off topic.  I just thought I would point that out.

I was thinking about The Lost World when I was watching it... you know, when the T-Rex knocks the bus off the side of the cliff....

I actually connected it to "The Lost World: Jarassic Park". Do you all remember the scene when the T-rexs began to push the trialor off the cliff and half was on the cliff and half was off? I also noticed that when the bus first fell of the water fall, Stan is pressed up against the windsheild, just like whats-her-name is "The Lost World". I dunno. Anyone aggree with me?

Yup, sadly the school district apparently couldn't afford the thempered glass the trailor on Lost World had, as proven by how that poor blue capped kid just went right through that rear window, ouch! hahaha.

If you had seen This Boy's Life or Basketball Diaries (made before dicaprio was super famous) you'd never have said what you just did about him. True, he's got that pretty-boy look to him, which obviously arouses your comments on his being a faggot, but he is not talentless. He's a good actor who is developing a bad ego. Watch him in anything pre-Titanic and you'll be surprised at how he can even hold his own in scenes with Robert DeNiro of all people. Other Titanic paralells are in the Fourth of July/Snake firework episode the kids start playing the violens when the snake starts killing everyone, the same song that the three violenists did in Titanic. Also in Carmans mom is a slut episode when she's at the Drunken Barn Dance the song she is singing when she see's the different guys is the same tune as the Celine Dion song from Titanic.
