Anybody heard from Jeff Plas?

It's been five days since he posted. Does anyone have any way of getting in touch with him outside of e-mail or this NG? An update on his condition would relieve the concerns of many in this NG, myself included.

Well, I see that there's a lot of concern for Jeff here. He used to talk about you guys a lot. This really doesn't seem appropriate, but I know you guys meant a lot to him, so I figured I could do this for him. For those of you who didn't know, Jeff lived at home. Yes, Dain, in response to your email, he did go to college. But he commuted every day. Anyway, as Jeff explained to me later, he posted here looking for advice on his high fever. He never did get to see any of your replies. His parents came home from dinner that night and found him passed out on the living room floor. They tried to wake him up, but eventually gave in to their fears and called an ambuulance. Jeff was suffering from a severe case of food poisoning. He spent the next two days slipping in and out of consciousness. He passed away late Wednesday night. It was really a shock to all of us, since he'd shown so much improvment that day. He asked me to come here and tell you all that he was doing fine, since he knew you'd be worried about him. Well, I don't own a computer myself. And Jeff only showed me the basics of newsgroups. So, I don't know for sure that this will get seen. I hope so, I'm sure Jeff would want you all to know that he went peacefully and that he thought of all of you regulars as friends. I'm sorry for posting this under his name, I know it's kind of morbid, but I don't know how to change it. Anyway, I want you all to know that you brought a little happiness into my Jeff's life. His friends, relatives, and especially me all lost a little something with him.

And alive in the other. Jeff's screen name is still in use. I think he wanted to ditch us. So he made up the whole fever thing (If he knew anything about fevers how the hell do you get a fever from food poisening). Then he waits a week. COmes back and pretends to be his mom saying he was in the hospital all week fighting death. He must have found some time while he was knocked out to come online and post the following messages...

There are many more and they all seem to be posted the same day he was presumed dead.

Only a sick and twisted monkey would fake his own death... But wait isn't that what we called him once.

You can definetly get a fever from food poisening. It's my understanding that a fever is just your body turning up the heat to try and kill off a bacteria or virus. And since food poisening comes from a becteria laden piece of food it is quite possiable. Its a moot point though as Jeff is fine and he had Bronchitis not food poisoning.

I'm pretty damn sure that you can get a fever from food poisoning, but I'm hardly positive..he posted (if it was him) as his fiance I think, not his mom, but whoever it was supposed to be from, this is weird as hell. I doubt he'd fake his own death and make us worry like this..anyone know what might be going on?

It also left me with a nasty stomach ulcer, and I'm only 22. Fortunately its bacterial, so it can and is being cured. Why assume so? That was my immediate response to it, but I doubt anyone would joke about death like that, not to mention from *his account*, and he seemed pretty damn scared the last time he posted with 103 fever (not to mention everyone seemed scared for him). If it's not true, wow. Your lack of sensitivity is amazing. If it is, wow again. I never thought something like that could happen and though I wasn't close to Jeff, my heart goes out to the people who were.

well, Kim, check out "author profile" of Jeff, he still posting stuff under his name few minutes ago to other newsgroup, trust me I scared the hell out when I read that "death" message as well! only to found out he live happyly in the other group!
