[At the Pets 'N' Stuff store]

Stan is returning a dead bird in a cage. Kyle, Cartman and Kenny

are there for support.

Stan: I'd like to return this bird.

Clerk: Ah yes, the Norwegian Blue. What's wrong with it?

Kyle interrupts.

Kyle: It's dead. Thats what's wrong with it!

Clerk: Its not dead [Hesitates]It's resting.

Stan: [Questioningly]Resting?

Kyle: It's not resting. It's nailed to it's perch.

Cartman shakes the cage. Lifeless bird bounces around.

Cartman: Hello Polly!

Kenny: Mmmmm mm'm mmmmmm mmm mmm mmmmmm?

Clerk: Exactly.

Stan: [Confused]What's a fjord?

Cartman has removed the bird from the cage and is banging

It's mortified body on the counter. Kenny is pointing at it.

Kenny: Mm'm m*m'mmmm mmmmmmm! (It's fucking demised!)

Cartman throws the lifeless bird over his shoulder.

Cartman: Nope! It's an ex-parrot.

Clerk: Look, I promise you...It's been squawking all morning.

Kyle: [Angrily]No it Hasn't you festering t*t!

Stan: Could you give me a new one...please.

Clerk: [Pauses]No, sorry. That was the last Norwegian Blue.

Kenny interjects.

Kenny: Mm, Mmm m mmmmmm mmmmmmm. (Oh, get a monkey instead)

Cartman: Yeh, get a monkey. Then you can bring it over to my

house and let my mom spank it.

Stan: Shut up dude.

Stan looks around.

Stan: [Hesitates]What other pets do you have?

Clerk: Uhm...Not much. Oh wait, I've got this slug.

Stan: [Denying]I Don't want a slug.

<waves her hand in the 'so-so' signal> Didn't make me laugh. I didn't really get it. 'Get a monkey so my mom can spank it' would have been funny if done differently. And what was with the guy pretending the parrot wasn't dead? But I'm not going to say it was complete sh*t because the writer was DiamondDave, and DiamondDave writes cool stuff. Just not this time.

I'm a little disapointed in the general reaction to this one. However, it is obvious as to why there is this reaction. Plain and simple; Lack Of Understanding. This sketch was based directly on Pythons' Dead Parrot Sketch.(Including some direct dialogue).

I'm amazed that nobody picked up on this. It wasn't that cunningly hidden. Probably more of a parallel than a cross-over.

I did give full credit to the original writers; Cleese, Jones, Gilliam, Chapman, Palin and Idle.

It was written as homage to these comedic genii, as opposed to an original SP episode.

I usually don't explain my writings, but this on needed some explaination. Now you know.

Where the hell are all the Python fans that used to be here?

Thanks, Dave

<enlightened> Ohhhhhh...

I would love to be a Python fan, unfortumantly I missed that cool thing on HBO..the only Monty Python thing I've seen is 'Holy Grail'

Don't worry Dave. Some of us are Python fans and thought it was brilliant.

Oh, we got the reference (well, I did), but I'm sorry to say, your version was not funny. Silly prattering on about demised birds does not humor make.

Take a close look at the original pet shop sketch:

Hmmmmm... Valiant attempt, Dave, but if one's never seen the Python sktch, well...

I can't believe you stupid idiots. Even someone who's not even a big Python fan would recognize that sketch. It's Python's most famous. Dave's South Park - Python post was funny.

I wouldn't worry about LEE. At least he can type. Let's fous on MutantMan first. The idiot thinks he's wanted, not to mention that first he hates South Park, then he loves it.
