Yes, this is a spoiler-free post. I know that some of you, who are located where the movie hasn't been released yet, are probably sick of trying to avoid spoiler posts. :)
WOOHOO!!! YESYESYESYESYES!!!
<dances>
Ok...just got back from the MOVIE!!!!! I'm still psyched. :)
I just wanna let y'all know, that it was the most brilliant thing I've ever seen in my whole entire life!!! There wasn't a single dull moment. I was laughing through the whole thing. If any of y'all haven't seen it, gogogogogo!! :)
Lucky!!! How'd you get in? I've been pissed off and depressed all day because the friends who were supposed to come with me "forgot about the stupid little cartoon movie", and only one other friend is coming now. Her mom was supposed to drive us, but now her Mom can't take us for some reason or the other. There's 4 theaters in this entire area. Of course, the 3 closest to me don't have SP. And one of them has 20 fucking screens!! I mean, come on, people, give me a break!! Not only do we have to now drive half an hour out of the way, I can either A: Go with my 'rents or B: Not see it at all. God, I hate life right now..
I only got in because I went with my mom. She hated the movie, so she's busy annoying the hell out of me, ever since the movie was over. The ticket sellers were extremely cautious with letting people in, I mean, they asked for an ID from some guys that looked over *25*!!!
There was even a thing on local news how kids that were 15 and 16 were being kicked out if they didn't have an adult with them.
My stupid Mom goes, "I'm too tired to see it," yet she says she'll see The General's Daughter tonight. How can you be too tired to see one movie but not the other?! And my grandmother is being a complete bitch and won't let my grandpa drive me. Maybe I can try to walk..
Saw it today and I haven't laughed harder than I did during the first 15 minutes. By the way, where I live (Mass.) they were carding and had an usher stationed outside the auditorium making sure no one would sneak in. I'm in my 30s--and when I go again, I'm taking a 15 and 16 year old kid with me... just doing my part to corrupt the youth. And it feels fucking good!!

Man, the trials and tribulations of today's youth culture.
I wish all parents were like yours so I wouldn't had to spend my evening with a bunch of freakin' kids that shouldn't have been there anyways. Just stay home and watch the TV show, it geared for you anyways.
Excuse me, but FUCK YOU. Me, and some other SP viewers under the age of 17 do not appreciate being referred to as "kids", and don't you even go on about how you're glad the little brats aren't there. We're big fans of the show and we have every right to see the movie. Some of us are mature, and then again, there are like some six year olds who run around screaming, "More candy, Mommy! MOREE!!" (Long story, it happened when I saw Austin Powers). Age doesn't matter, it's just how mature you are and how much you can take. Oh, and BTW, the show is supposedly geared for adults, but then again, isn't the movie supposed to be? I frankly don't think that a bunch of toddlers would see this movie (although according to a few posts, some have), and if you're just angry that you're in the prescence of "kids", ::rolls her eyes:: then I think you're the one who shouldn't even be there.. And GET WITH IT.

The fact that you have to lead off your reply with "FUCK YOU" shows you aren't mature enough to see the movie....
how
You ARE kids. According to the law, if you are under 18, you are a minor. DEAL WITH IT.
Why do you have the "right" to see the movie? Unless you're Trey or Matt's nephew or something, you don't have the "right".
Did you notice here that you did the same thing that you complained at someone else for doing? You said that you don't appreciate being referred to as a kid, yet you in turn are using the same type of generalization towards kids slightly younger than you.
While this may be partly true, how would the government go about deciding who is mature enough to see the movie? Perhaps kids should have to get a "maturity" licence? The only half effective way is to use age. By the age of 17 , most people are mature enough to see it. Before that, most people probably aren't and should deal with.
Yes, the movie is supposed to be for adults, and that's why you can't get in.
angry
you're
We're not necessarily angry that we're in the presence of kids, we're angry that there are parents with so little respect for their children that they let them see a movie that they have no business seeing.
When a kid couldn't get into a movie before, he bitched about it to his friends and that was about it. But now because he figured out how to hit send on his AOL account, the whole frickin' world has to listen to his sob story about how he couldn't do something that no other 10 year old could.
I do have a right, as in, you can't stop me in seeing the movie. And that would be NIECE.
No, only towards my cousin. He was running around screaming for candy during the whole movie. I was well behaved at his age.
I don't mean the fact of me getting in without an adult, I mean the fact that some people here think someone under the age of 17 shouldn't see the movie PERIOD.
If you're talking about ME, it just so happens that I am female, as I mentioned earlier, and I am also fifteen years old. I didn't have a sob story, I was just pissed, and I was allowed to be, as I am a big SP fan. And BTW, this afternoon I did get in. The clerk just asked me how old I was, I said I was seventeen, and they let me in, without asking for ID. I enjoyed the movie and I knew I was mature and responsible enough to see it. I also a few other adolescents (sp?) who looked about twelve or eleven, and they behaved themself, kept quiet, and laughed and understood the movie. Parents don't need other people pointing their finger at them and telling them how to raise their children.. They know how they want to.

Therefore, justification has been served. A lot of people drop out to smoke pot and pump out kids at 16 and 17, why don't you try to do that too? There was such a sense of incredible maturity within the answer, it is amazing that we learn that this people is of the age of 15. The qualitative aspects of the argument supersedes the question and represent the American tradition of Quantity comes before Quality, simply amazing that a 15 year old can straddle the comprehension and understanding that it takes to bear such responsibility. Accolades and applause, my dear! You are the most mature person in the universe, here she is....Ms. Maturity. She has spent her whole life in training for this one answer, she has been living around old people her whole life, she has watched the reruns of the old Captain Kangaroo, she has entered their hearts, picked at their brains and given hand jobs to Mr. Rogers and his whole damn neighborhood for a sense of maturity. And after 15 whole years, her life is done - she has reached a state of Maturation that could only be accomplished by a 74 year old man. Good job!
YOU CANT STOP ME!! YOU CANT STOP ME!! NEENER-NEENER-NEENER!! Once again, this Aristotelian ideal of maturity has stumped the crowd, I have never such maturity and the honesty and intensity within the answer just proves that you the RIGHT! Allow us to look at this word, RIGHT, a definition that springs to mind is to be in accordance with law, justice and morality and to be in accordance with fact, reason, and to be true. Does everybody else see how she does this? She advances, using the super-human strength of maturity, the argument to dissertation level discussion, she pushes the coloquiam to a doctorate level of understanding at the age of 15. 15, folks, allow us not to forget that this Brain, this super-genius of humanity who should admired and raised upon the highest pedestal is merely 15 years old, her mind will not show that, only the wrinkle-less face of kid-like perfection.
Let's go through this slowly, she has the right, the inalienable right because Thomas Jefferson said so ('Let us hold that these truths be self-evident; that all men are created equal and that once an individual reaches a state of maturation deemed only be themselves, or others that of a state not reached by that individual, shall see South Park. So it is written and so it shall be.') (It is only now that I remember reading this within the Bill of Rights or maybe the it was an argument in the Federalist Papers) the right to go see this movie due to we, people that are not real in the same sense of her neighbor, her neighbor has the notion and possibility of stopping her, therefore he is more real to her than I, can not stop her. We cannot stop her! Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury - she rests! If this is not the most Mature answer that a parent can tell a child so that that child may learn the art of reasoning, then I would like a parent to tell me a better one. Yes? Yes? Oh, we have heard that one? OK - Because I said so. Yes, very good, but it lacks the spirit and maturity that 'You can not stop me.' had, it was teen angst and rebellion and what else, oh yes, MATURITY. Thank you Andi, you have shown the light to us all and we owe you a debt of gratitude. We are forever changed for just knowing of your existence.
What true maturity, only a genius could steal a line from The Craft. The Epic of all epics, why once again, we stand appalled and yearning of more brilliance to extend from her appendages of enlightenment.
Can I ask a question here? Why does every person I meet, from the ages of 14 - 20, think that they are the Weirdest person that they know? They really believe that they are special to the word, why is that? They actually have the audacity to think that they hold some significance, why? Maybe they start believing those Levis' 501 commercials, can anyone help me out with this one, maybe this specimen of maturity, Andi - maybe my last vestige of hopeful realisitic idealism. I hope that you can reach back into your youth culture from your pedestal of maturity and try answering my question, maybe I am doomed to never understanding the mind of adolescents.
I managed to get Randy's and my tickets, he's 21, I'm 19, and they didn't evne card me! Dude! I look fifteen! I guess they were lax... So funny, this woman had her 11 or so year old son with her and they didn't leave...and he really didn't laugh either...he was like three rows in front of us! I was rolling tho, even tho Randy got very offended a coupla times!

In the Regal Cinema I visited, I saw about a dozen pairs of underaged kids enter the theater unattended. They stuck SP in theater 5, the most out-of-the-way auditorium in the complex, and there were no ushers on the doors at all (pulling the old theater switcheroo would have been very easy).
Funny, here in Toledo, this flick is only playing in two separate cinemas, both owned by National Admusments (which owns most of the theaters in Toledo, we have no competition!). When I got to the theatre paying this, I was a bit hurry and bought my ticket quickly. I'm 21, but I didn't need to show off my ID, they never asked. I originally wanted to go to a later time, but found out the theater it's in was small, but the other room playing it there was twice as big, so I decided to go there, though I only missed the first ten minutes of the trailers from having to use the restroom first.
Surprisinbly, there was a very limited number of people that showed up (including a like of children, South Park is very big with these kids, I see them act out the roles on the playground). One thing that makes me laugh is how a row of kids taht watched the movie didn't know what a clitoris, or even Brian Boitano were (I assume they aren't hardcore SP fans as we are).
At our theater, parents came in with 7 year old kids. I think I even saw a few 11 year olds who got in without a guardian or anything. Nobody even left when they realized it wasn't a kids movie.
I think "FUCK YOU, UNCLE FUCKA!" would have clued me in... 8^)
They SHOULD have been kicked out if they were only fifteen. This was an ADULT comedy, a very funny one indeed, but for ADULTS. Some scenes were even pornographic and just a few years ago, people would have been arrested for showing something like that to underage kids. Shows you how far down we have gone in morality in our society!
<<Shows you how far down we have gone in morality in our society!>>
I personally think that freedom of speech and freedom of choice is much better for our society than a high goddy code of life and censorship of anything that offends someone who is offended by the words "heck" and "darn".

Finally someone that has the tenacity to stand up for this document with a little objectivism. Dave Webb does not speak for me, if a parent wants to take their kids to see this movie, great! or if a kid wants to sneak in to see this movie, better! I love social chaos, the only thing I can't stand is a child thinking they have the RIGHT to go see this movie, even though legality may stand in the way, Fuck legality, they have the maturity, I also have a problem listening to them in the theatres and listening to them here cry about not being let in. Like they won't be able to rent it from their local supermarket in about 6 months. Not even smart enough to figure the whole damned movie game yet, but they have the intelligencia and maturity of my father's grandfather's grand-uncle. I agree with Daniel M. Gordon here.
OK, put down the keyboard and go back to your session of gay butt sex with little boys....go on now....there ya go....ya like that, dontcha, bitch?

Dude, that's not fair. So what if some people in this newsgroup don't think that kids of a certain age should not watch this movie? That's their opinion. You shouldn't insult them for that. I, for example, agree with some people in that this movie is definitely not appropriate for younger audiences. Teens are fine and I think they can handle and understand most of the jokes in the TV show and the movie, but it disturbs me to hear of parents taking their 10 year old or 8 year old kid to see this movie (sorry, Silverraven). The TV show is pretty harsh enough, but this movie, you all have to admit, has pushed beyond the envelope- it has torn the damn envelope wide open. It's not just the massive, extreme amount of cursing the cussing I'm talking about; it's all the graphic sexual references.
Don't get me wrong though you guys - as any of the regulars and old timers on this ng know, I'm a huge fan of SP and absolutely LOVED the movie and will see it again, but it is *definitely* not for kids.
Ok, what I've just said is my opinion- it differs from some people's opinions on this ng and it agrees with others. Now I've said that, are you all gonna yell at and insult me too?
