On the back of the Terrence and Phillip newspaper clipping that Stan shows to all the other kids while go to each of their house's during Mountain Town (in the very beginning of the film), it says:

One more:
When Terrance and Phillip are arrested on the Conan O'Brein show, it is shown as if it is happening live ( even though the show is taped during the day and then shown at night ).
Also, the show is supposedly on late at night, yet, when Conan jumps out of the window, it is obviously daytime.

But that doesn't explain why the kids were watching it while being babysat by Shelley. It is under the premise that they are watching it at night ( since the show IS called Late Night with Conan O'Brein ). It is taped during the day, and shown at night.
