Wouldn't that make a great title for their second film. Think about it. An NC-17 rated IMAX film. Just saw an IMAX film and thought "hey, that would work". And with the limited release, the NC-17 rating wouldn't hurt them that badly (especially considering that even their young audience would be able to get in a few years from now when they do it). Also, since it's animated, the cost wouldn't be as great as the IMAX films that have to actually shoot on the format. It could work.

Most imax theaters are SOOO expensive to maintain, they're owned by government agencies, they'll never let a movie like that play.

Cute fantasy, but this will never happen because anyone funding the movie would want to make money. You cannot get anywhere near the same box office receipts from an IMAX-only movie. This is assuming that IMAX theatres would even show it, which is unlikely because they tend to cater to families, showing mainly picturesque documentaries and other kid-friendly productions. We will see IMAX Pok�mon before IMAX South Park.
