Horray for Matt & Trey!

FOUR DAYS and they squeeze out an awesome episode about the Elian fiasco.

I will not argue about people's personal feelings on this matter, after all, we're all entitled to our opinions....but I give two thumbs up to Matt & Trey for having the balls to do this episode, especially since the events depicted were only four days old as of it's airing!

Janet Reno "liberating" the Quints on Easter, the INS agents and the now infamous "Closet Picture" (done two ways) and the commentary on how the Quints were being used as Political Puppets by both countries was right on the mark.

Maybe this episode will help people see how in the real world the real Quints (ie Elian) are being exploited for both countries Political posturing and not for what the Quints want......

I don't know what the original episode was aboot, but I'm sure the story line was changed significantly on Saturday after the early morning events in Miami.

The promo for the show shows the girls wanting to go on the bus and not be late for school, and of course, this is now no where to be seen, so we have an unaired episode floating around, hopefully we can see it one day, but for now, Shpadoinkle Matt & Trey!!!!!

Since the Elian case has been in the news for several months, I suspect most of the "original" episode was already in the can as a spoof of the general situation, and they simply lucked out with the Easter raid by Janet Reno. Given that, they jumped on the chance to re-animate a few scenes (maybe 30 seconds, tops) to punch home the similarities, especially the AP photo of Elian in the closet.

The Dionne Quintuplets from canada is my guess. Of course, this would have come a few months after simpsons satirized that so good thing they changed it to be more timely, otherwise it would have been a simpsons ripoff.

No, in the promo for the quints episode there was a seen where the quints where getting on the bus and didn't want to be late dor their first day and a special guest apearance by timmy and none of this is to be found in the last episode. Howz aboot that phil collins? Did ya'll all notice how the closet shots looked the same down to the sliding door and clothes in the back with the closet to the far right just like the picture? Yep. That became the morning their grandmother was found dead. Grandpa's got skills... a bit much for the old contortionist, huh?

Too bad the clip they used for that announcement came from "The Tooth Fairy's Tats 2000."

They air repeats because the fans will watch whatever they tell you to watch, and the quins episode was damn good, but not that funny compared to previous 4th season episodes. If they push out a new episode every week, look at it this way, they come up with a good script, work on the episode for a few weeks and have time to make character voices sound funnier, they come up with more and more funny stuff to put in the episode until they have a solid gold episode that they never want to see again because they have done, heard and thought about things in the episode until they are so sick of it they cant stand it anymore, like when the wild wild west song was on mtv, I watched it a bunch of times until I now would not ever listen to it again, because will smith sucks corporate shlong, see what I mean? They control you, in many ways, like the way you talk, what you think is funny, they even told us what to think of mtv, you don't watch as much mtv now, do you. yes, you're right that sp does attempt influence its audience into accepting their point of view on things, but unless their point of view resonates truthfully no one would be influenced. And MTV does suck. Jello Biafra (DK) figured it out long ago with "MTV get off the Air"

Because, fatass, they need to sleep once in awhile...

I am extremely impressed that they were able to produce what they did in that amount of time. Just when you thought Trey and Matt could not possibly show us anything else, they go and deliver an episode just hours before it has to be aired. Good job guys!
