FUNNY!: Southpark will see Steve Irwin in Hell!!!

'South Park' creators have outraged fans of the late Steve Irwin by poking fun at his death.

The latest episode of the satiric sketch, entitled 'Hell On Earth 2006', shows the 'Crocodile Hunter' attending a fancy dress party in Hell - along with the late Princess Diana and Hitler - with a stingray poking out of his bleeding chest. Irwin is then kicked out of the party by the Devil because he isn't in fancy dress.

The scenes have sparked outrage among fans and media regulators because they appear to ridicule the wildlife expert's shocking death in September, when a stingray's barb pierced his chest while he was snorkelling near the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.

British broadcasting watchdog Mediawatch branded the episode "grossly insensitive".

Mediawatch director, John Beyer, said: "This is bad taste. Steve Irwin's family is still grieving. To lampoon somebody's death like this is unacceptable."

'South Park' makers Comedy Central have defended the controversial episode, saying it is no different from their usual work.

A spokesman said: "It has offended people in the past and probably will again. Regular watchers would not be shocked."

It really was not worse than any number of 1000 other things SP has done over the years. I'm surprised anyone bothers to get their ire up over this show anymore.

FWIW, I was surprised no one got upset about Butters saying the n-word. Poor Butters.

That is funny! Shouldn't tease or handle wild animals if you can avoid it. Irwin was playing on borrowed time. He wasn't evil, not like Walt Disney, but he wasn't too bright either.

Technically, Irwin's cartoon character wasn't in hell, he was just at Satan's party on Earth.

So can the creators of South Park. Look I stood by South Park when they ripped on my personal beliefs, its called free speech. I just can't watch a show that defames Steve's memory like that and says he's going to go to hell. That and he has family and a entire country who are still grieving for him (Ok I'll admit some people hate him and aren't sad he died). Maybe if the show did a Steve Irwin in hell episode in a few years when I got over his death I'd watch it but yeah I just cant watch something like that right now call me a dick all you want but that's just how I feel. I'm also a fan of princess Diane, she was the only decent person in the royal family.

Oh and the Bible did say that people would deny these events (the events of the gospel) happened. I can't remember the exact passage but I can look it up if you don't believe me.

I personally think they should have used her image in road safety campaigns to show what happens when you don't wear a seatbelt. The bodyguard in the front seat wore his seatbelt and survived (although he'll never be able to play the trumpet again...).

Princess Diana was a sponge sucking money out of her country so she could fill her wardrobe with expensive clothes that she'd only ever wear once. I'm sure the world needs more decent women just like her.
