I know, _South Park_ is a good entertaining show with no need for any scientific accuracy, but the following thoughts did occur to me re. the episode with the "snake".
Remember conservation of mass? Where did the mass of that snake come from in the first place? Zero-point energy converted to matter?
(Of course, it could have been on the site of the volcano, and made from cooling lava - but enough to fill four states?)
Also, nuclear winter is a distinct possibility after the snake breaks up, releasing millions of tons of ash into the atmosphere. I can just see everyone in SP making snowballs and snowmen from ash at the end of the episode - then from real snow when nuclear winter sets in!
