Starvin Marvin

Hey everyone.

We just saw the Starvin Marvin episode over in Australia. When they advertised it here they said it was the episode that shocked America.

Is that true?

Just in case if you didn't get the joke in the "Starvin' Marvin" name, it refers to Speedway Gas Stations in the US. At the front of the Speedway store they have the "Starvin' Marvin" sign. I forgot what it means. I rarely go inside the store. Maybe that's the name of their microwave sandwiches?

I remember one down the road from our house. The logo is a thin man wearing a Santa Claus suit. No idea of the history. Starvin' Marvin was bought out in the late 80's.

They can't be gone, we have those with most of our Speedway Gas Stations here in Toledo, Ohio. They're basically owned by Marathon Oil, which may explain the loss of those gas stations here. Starvin' Marvin's aren't the same as they used to be however. The one near my house used to have a several tables to eat in, not anymore. It't not really a Starvin' Marvin withour that, just like 7-Eleven's that had video games in their stores. I really miss the "old days."

Mm, I don't think we've ever had any *one* SP episode singled out by the show's few opponents as being much more "shocking" than any other. And if there actually was one episode claiming the prize for raising more eyebrows than others, it'd probably be one of those that featured Jesus, for obvious reasons.

Maybe they were calling it the *show* (meaning the whole series) that shocked America?
