Summary A stomach disease that causes bleeding of the colon hits many of the kids in South Park. Cartman gets it first and he believes the bleeding to be his period, a sign of his puberty, so he immediately goes out and buys some maxi pads. Kenny gets it too and so he forgoes the maxi pad route and buys some tampons. Meanwhile, people gather outside Jesus' house for guidance on the new millennium, hoping for God to make an appearance. Jesus begs his dad to show up on New Years eve but is denied and instead schedules a comeback concert with Rod Stewart in Las Vegas, inviting anyone who wants to come. Kyle and Stan grow worried that, without their periods, Cartman and Kenny will no longer want to hang out with them. Kyle simply lies to Cartman so that he can join the two boys in Cartman's clubhouse. Stan prays to God for some assistance in his development but when that fails he gets some hormone pills from Dr. Mephisto. Soon, Stan develops a five-o'clock shadow, a small pair of breasts and his voice cracks. Regardless, he doesnt get his period and the rest of the boys refuse to hang out with him. On New Years Eve everyone gathers in Las Vegas, including the boys. However all Jesus has to show for them is a concert that ends as soon an aging Rod Stewart craps his pants. The crowds revolt and prepare to crucify Jesus, who realizes the reason God didn't appear; if God can fix everything that's wrong, what's the point of thinking for ourselves. With that, God finally does arrive, revealing himself as a small bizarre furry animal and announcing he will answer one question from the crowd. Stan uses this as his opportunity to ask why he hasnt gotten his period, blowing everyone's chance of asking a profound question. God tells Stan he can't have a period because, obviously, he's boy and then leaves, promising to come back in another 2,000 years. Stan is delighted that everything turned out okay, which is more than can be said for everyone else, who attack him during the credits.
Kenny's Death While sitting in Cartman's clubhouse Kenny gets stomach pains. He then keels over and blood spurts out his mouth. The doctor informs his parents that the tampon up Kenny's ass prevented blood from escaping due to the colon disease and Kenny's insides pretty much ruptured from the blockage.
Noteworthy This is the first episode in which the voice track was recorded after Mary Kay Bergman's suicide. Her replacement does a decent job with Mrs. McCormick, but her Sharon Marsh leaves just a little to be desired.
Notes This is the first time since Chef's Mama (303) that Chef has any semblance of a major role, and it's only the second time this season that he's sung anything.

During the last scene in Las Vegas, Butters pretty much takes Kenny's place beside Kyle and Cartman, perhaps he's had his "period" as well.
Mrs. McCormick still wears her "God Bless" shirt that she wore in Mr Hankey Christmas Classics, making her the only character so far who has actually has worn a change of clothes.
Review Kind of a mixed bag, but a good kind of mixed bag. Your enjoyment of this one really depends on if you find menstrual and tamon jokes funny and if you enjoy seeing a character like Stan exploited for laughs. The first half of the show is extremely funny, especially Stan's frustration in not having his period. The scenes with Stan in his bathroom and with Chef are really funny, but the entire hormone thing never really leads anywhere, and we dont get a big pay off from it. It's funny at first, but then goes nowhere. So many hormone related possibilities are left completely unexplored. Kenny's death isn't unexpected but the reasoning behind it comes straight out of left field. It's truly the only time where the explanation of his death is funnier than the death itself. The episode sort of runs out of steam towards the end. We expect something really big to happen, but nothing ever does. The revelation of God is funny in a very braindead way, although Garrison's disbelief over God's true form helps alittle. The ending, with Stan getting attacked during the credits is more than a little cruel, if not totally unjustified. Maybe if every episode of the Simpsons didn't end that way nowadays it might have been funnier. As it stands, this is a very middleground episode, not up to the level of Chinpokomon or Rainforest Shmainforest, but well above Jakovasaur and Sexual Harassment Panda.
