Dude, they don't have "without hats". Kyle sleeps in his green thingy, Cartman sleeps in his hat too, the Stan clone actually grew a hat, and well, then there's Kenny. and while Cartman appeared once without a hat as Hitler, that was probably a wig anyway.
By the same token, would Quentin Tarantino's Jimmie character have been the same if he was wearing a big-ass green hat in every scene?
If it helps, imagine they are in a play or something. By this rationale they ARE wearing wigs. BTW I really tried to include the hats and such in the graphics when I made them, but it just didn't work. They didn't look ANYTHING like their Pulp Fiction counterparts.
I could have just made a regular South Park site - but it's been done before. ( And far better. ) I invite you to visit the site and see if you like it. I think I did a pretty good job getting the characters to look like "themselves" as well as characters from PF. I certainly understand your point but I felt this was the way to go. If it really pains you to see em without hats there are about 600 other SP sites out there ( a lot of really excellent ones, too! ) where the characters are wearing hats.
And when you get down to it - it's no big deal really. Case closed? I hope so...
