How exactley do Trey and Matt do the voices for Cartman, Stan, Kyle and Kenny? Do they just speed their voices up, or what? I know Kenny's is probably just muffled, but what about the other three?

More than likely, they just use a pitch shifter...meaning it raises the pitch of their voice to a higher octave...That's what was used for Alvin and the Chipmunks, but I don't think that Matt and Trey raise the pitch that high...:)

I don't know if Alvin and the Chipmunks is still in production, but in its original incarnation, they did NOT use a pitch shifter, as such an animal did not exist at the time. David Seville did the voices and they were sped up by simply playing the tape at nearly double speed. Proof? Find an old Chipmunks record and an old phonograph player and play them at 16 instead of 33-1/3.

The trouble is that not moving your tounge makes you near-illegible. Cartman is a huskier version of Beavis. Just do Beavis's voice about 2 octaves lover.
The boys' voices (and the girls') are run through a form of pitch-shifter, specifically a software program called Audio Visions. They do the voices at normal-speed and the pitch is digitally raised in real-time. All of the adult voices are recorded at normal pitch.
