This is from the hell hole
Matt Monday November 2nd What the *bleep* is going on!? Beef-Cake.com - down Parksouth.com - dead Southparkworld.com - buh bye spfiles.simplenet.com - gone Coincidence? Possibly.. But what am I trying to say here? It seems as if South Park is being killed over the internet. Big sites are going down left and right. And with today's article, South Park Webmasters aren't too happy, including me. I read the article over and over, and basically what is says is Comedy Central is going to have to do something to Sites that are freely distributing material. This is because if Comedy Central ever went to court over a copyright issue with South Park it wouldn't be of any help to them if the internet was brought up with all sites having tons of copyrighted material and they did nothing about it. So what happened to the sites? Well I think 2 things happened here. First Sites hosted by Simplenet are all going down (We got off that server just in time) Simplenet read that article and say it as a threat to get sued. So they finally went and enforced their copyrighted material policies. So spfiles and *possibly* beef-cake are both down. Then you have the overloading and bandwidth problems that almost killed the hellhole several times. With so few sites left, everyone is flocking to the sites that are still up and causing TONS of bandwidth that the servers can't handle, thus causing the webmasters to ahve to shut down the site until they can find a new host. We've got the hosting part covered now, so we're not going down for that. I can give you my word though, that until Comedy Central sends us a Cease and Decist letter Mr Hat's Hell Hole will remain up. We're not going to close the site because of an article in ZD-Net. If Comedy Central wants to shut us down they would have done it a long time ago. Why haven't they done it yet? The answer is simple. We're making them a FORTOUNE. Look at the merchandise page, every item sold on that page puts money into CC's pockets. How about forign countries? They don't get Comedy Central. So what do they do? They come here and download sounds, transcripts, or the entire episode from one of our mirror sites. Without this site Comedy Central would have a much smaller viewer base, and less people buying overpriced merchandise. Lastly, why should Comedy Central be tearing down the one thing that made South Park popular? Without the internet I bet 1/2 the people that comes to this page wouldn't know what South Park was. The Spirit of Christmas that was downloaded thousands of times over the internet was one of the main things that contributed to South Park's success. If Comedy Central was to put an end to all of that they would be killing the success of South Park. So if anyone from Comedy Central actually comes here and reads this, stop taking down sites, or at least restrict only certain content (movies, sounds, ect).
