Damien Rating

Did anyone notice The TV14 rating on Damien,if im not mistaken this is a first for southpark isnt it? However dont get me wrong i just watched the Midnight show and i think this is the best one yet,i liked it more than Mr hankey even,i just wanted to know if anyone was dissapointed.

All new SP will be TV14 from now on. There might be a rare instance when there is a TVMA. More $ for Comedy Central.

You know, I could deal with that. But it would be pretty hypocritical to do so after having aired the "'cause you can say words like go fbeepk yourself and kiss my abeep" commercial OVER and OVER all week long...

The reason I'd rather it stayed TV-MA is two-fold.

First, the TV-MA rating was probably responsible for shielding South Park from much of the kind of outrage Beavis and Butt-head generated..... though that could also be attributed to the fact that it's never been shown before 10 p.m.

Second, it's tradition. It was the first sponsor-supported show to get a TV-MA rating. The TV-MA logo has become as much a part of South Park as Cheesy Poofs, and is probably on more T-shirts as well.

Now that it's TV-14.... well, in a sense all it's lost is tradition... anyone who's 14 is old enough to have other things to blame than a TV show.

I recall during the SP sleepover early this fall, there was on episode which received a TV-PG rating. This was one of the better episodes. I was rather annoyed by the holiday ones. (not very funny)

your right it is a south park first i have only seen tv m for all the south park

Sounds to me like a ploy to generate uproar over an already increasing in popularity South Park.

Now that "children" are being "allowed" to be exposed to this kind of retchedness and uncivility, parents (and non-parents) who care are almost surely going to start a war on South Park (or at least, that's probably the plan). Frankly, it'd be the best thing to ever happen to the show.

A helluva good move by Comedy Central, I'd say.

Not only was Damien the first episode to get a TV-14 rating but it was also the first episode to be presented with closed captioning for the hearing impaired.

Not true. At the very least, the "Pink Eye" episode was CC'd, and this leads me to believe that at least all the ones after that were, too.
