<snip all the insults from henke or whatever the h*ll your name was>

Listen....the person you see before you is the product of people coming to this
newsgroup and tearing me to my wits end. I was here for quite awhile, before
all these people came in who saw the "April Fools" episode. I hate when this
happens, and it effected a lot of SP boards as well. I guess it'll never be the
same. You can ask anyone, I used to be one of the the calmest and most
thoughtful posters, but I'm really angry now. And, as for why I use asteriks to
cover the vowels in cusses, its a little thing called courtesy, because some
people don't want to see that. But, lately, I'm all out of courtesy, gee I
wonder why. Listen, I am not in the mood for this. So just leave me alone OK?

If you really felt that way, you'd just stop posting. You just want the attention, like everybody else. Well, at this moment I'm giving you some, so be of good cheer.

Everybody knows everybody likes to see follow-up posts to their messages. It makes us feel important. And some losers like to insult people with language they wouldn't dare use in real life, because a lot of net monkeys are scrawny, nerdy stick-people who couldn't take their little sisters in a fight, let alone their co-workers or fellow students. That makes them feel powerful.

And others pretend to sulk and pout, and tell everyone they're doing it.

And some of us, dare I say it, bore others to tears with pious, holier-than-thou advice and pseudo-psycholocal babbling.

So just fess up and you'll feel better.

Language people wouldn't dare use in real life? Scrawny, nerdy stick-people?

While this might hold true for SOME people, this is not true of everyone let alone the majority. Granted there are a lot of 10 year old kids out there trying to get their jimmies some way or another but you'd be suprised how many people I know that are about 6'4'' and 200 lbs that I guarantee can take you in a fight.

Oh and another thing, I usually tone down my language on the net. In real life I swear a lot more.

Yeah... well... I'm the same height and outweigh you by 30 pounds! And I got a tire iron! So Nyaaaaaaah. You're a dick! :-)

Amen. The best insults are "fuck" free.

Yeah well.Uhhh. My friends are bigger than yours. SO THERE!

;-)

I don't know if i totally agree with that. Usually the best insults at school at chalked full of em.

True... I tend to align myself with those of smaller stature... uhhhhh... BUT... uhhh... ummm... Yo' mama! :-)

Have you personally surveyed every 'net user in the world to find out if they are a nerd? I admit I was exaggerating, but when I see posts that say nothing more than "You suck!", I tend to assume the poster is, as I said, a nerdy stick-person. We all make judgements based on available information. Usenet provides very little information, but we ALL make assumptions.

That's quite a staterment. Does it make you feel better to say you know people who you say can beat me up? I'm sure I know people who can take your people in a fight. I'm sure you know other people who take my people in a fight. And I know people, etc, etc, etc. What exactly is the point of your statement? For all you know, I could be a 6'7" 250 lb. SEaL ju-jitsu champion. I'm not, but you made assumptions about me just as I make assumptions about most net monkeys.

So do I. In real life, you know who your audience is. I will make an assumption that you, like me, in the presence of some friends with, say, a 4-year-old, will try to keep the swearing to a minimum. So the 'net isn't the only place some curb their swearing.

I still say that most of the "You suck" posts are from nerdy goobers who don't swear at people in real life because of exccessive timidity. On the 'net, they let it all loose becaus there are no repercussions to worry about (almost none, anyway).

Many times when I am presented with that type of post I just naturally assume average idiot and leave it at that.

Yeah I guess so.;-)

My people will call your people and we'll fight over lunch.

For all you know I could be grand-masta rappa kicking it in compton with my homies. But I'm not and that's the fun aspect of the Internet. A wise man/woman can easily decieve nearly anyone.

I don't have many 4 year old friends but yes I do watch my swearing around the kiddies.

What about signing them up for every SPAM mailing list?

Whatever floats your boat, pal.

My people are busy training a secret army of ninjas to help Al Gore win in 2000.

You could be. I could give you cancer with my mind, then where would you be, Mr. Smarty-Pants?

A person, wise or foolish, can fool only the young and easily impressed on the 'net.

<snip>

Scanners go through the news groups anyway to pick out addresses, so it doesn't require a malicious person signing you up for spam. If you use your real address in NGs, you'd get spam even if you never cheesed anyone off. I would never bother signing up a NG "enemy" for spam because I don't want to waste my time doing it, If someone else is going to do it, there's nothing I can do to stop them if that's how they get their jollies. They can sit in their little dark closet stinking of stale pizza and Jolt, giggling to themselves about the "sweetness" of their revenge. Sounds pitiful, doesn't it?
