BitchMom's Review of SP the Movie (spoiler space where needed)

Hello all, Just got back from seeing SouthPark the Movie. I wasn't offended by anything in the movie and I loved it. My 8 year old daughter loved it and my 45 year old husband loved it. Then again, I'm a very open and progressive mother :-)

I noticed that someone pointed out a mistake in the movie and I looked for it and found that the person was wrong. I list it in the second spoiler section.

[slight tiny spoiler in next section, but you should read anyway, it doesn't give anything away] . . . . . . . . I'd also like to point out that my 8 year old daughter laughed her ass off most of the time. She loved the show. She hasn't yet asked what a clitoris is but if and when she does, I'll just tell her. *I* was a tad nervous when the realistic-looking dildo appeared, but she took it in stride. If she asks, I'll tell her. She just seemed to ignore it.

[slight spoiler, making a correction to something someone posted here regarding a continuation error in the movie.] . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Someone said that Cartman cusses during the Brian Bartono (sp?) song and that he doesn't get zapped by this V-chip. I watched for this, and it's not true. You never see Cartman say a cuss word during that song. He's always out of the shot and so you can't assume that he says the words.

For what it's worth, I really admire you parenting style. IMHO, the more we shelter our children, the more maladjusted they will wind up when they have to deal with the outside world.

I just saw the movie today, and I don't think I've ever laughed as hard as I did during the first 15 minutes of the movie. Plus, I'm an Athiest, so any movie where one of the characters calls God a "f*cking faggot" is OK with me...

Just my 2 cents, I don't want to start a flame war...

I think you're being a little extreme. There are plenty of "bad ideas" that parents ought to protect their children from.

Thank you so much. My daughter is very well adjusted and is entering the Gifted and Talented Education program next month at school as well. She doesn't cuss now even after seeing the movie. She didn't ask any questions, instead I asked her about and few things and then explained them. She took what I said and filed it away for later when she needs it. Right now she's just really happy that she got to see the movie. :-)

Yep. That was me that posted that, but after seeing it a third time I noticed the same thing you did. And if you listen carefully, Cartman isn't singing that line anyway, he joins in on the word anybody. My bad.
