I dunno... but if it's a cast member, do you think it will be "forgotten" and things will move on, like Kenny's death (BTW, nice mention of Kenny's death by Stan's folks), or will Cartman have a new relationship with Mr. Garrison/Chef/Elway/the Genecist's little friend?
None of the adults in the series have EVER noticed Kenny's death (except, of course, his family). But since everyone saw it on TV this week, it became real to them.
Stan's parents mentioned it before they saw it on the Bob Saget show, didn't they?
