The "One of Us... Gooba Gobba" chant is a reference to the movie "Freaks" - 1932.
And I trust everyone caught the "Predator" reference just now...

Great ending... I loved Butters' dad yelling at Condit, OJ, and the Ramseys... I'm sure they especially wanted to rip on the Ramseys, being from Colorado and all.
And as for Condit... well... just read my sig...

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER FOR THOSE THAT HAVEN'T SEEN IT YET.
Butter's Mom trying to kill Butter's then covering it up is based on Susan Smith story, thought surprised no one mention that. I caught just about every reference, but the gas station attendant talking to Butter's, any particular references in that? I think he was mentioning Friday the 13th, but what about the bridge part? Also, did anyone catch the way the scene looked where Butter's wandered through the corridor looking for his Dad, how it looked like the same place as the NAMBLA episode?
There was an Alfred Packer/"Cannibal! The Musical" reference about the six guys who had to eat each other to stay alive ... can't remember the others right now, but I'll watch it again later.

Well, the Cannibal! story is based on real events anyway... The Donner Party.

No, the Cannibal! story actually happened, but never solved. There are a few Web sites that cover the tale. The take in Cannibal! is that Alferd Packer was innocent of the charges leveled against him.
i thought packer was the first guy convicted of cannabalism, or the only guy convicted of it in colorado, or something about conviction. wait a minute. maybe that has nothing to do with it being solved or not. maybe i'll go watch the DVD again. yeah, that sounds like the best plan. let's build a snowman!
I seem to remember hearing somewhere that the Judge, as he passed sentence said: "He was the only Democrat in this county, and you, you son of a bitch, you ate him!"
I believe it was supposed to have gone, "There were only seven Democrats in Hinsdale County, and you, you voracious, man-eatin' son-of-a-bitch, you ate five of them!" God, I'm such a Packer geek ...
Dahmer was only convicted of 15 counts of murder. I can't find the charges against him right now, but I'm pretty sure that, under U.S. law, cannibalism now falls under the broader category of desecrating a corpse. However, with everything else they had on Dahmer, I'd be surprised if prosecutors even bothered with that relatively piddling charge.
Dahmer was originally charged with cannibalism; but plea bargained it down to noshing in the 2nd degree (a class A misdemeanor), so it wasn't sensational enough for the media anymore.
I guess the book they were throwing at him was getting pretty heavy. It's fairly common knowledge that child molesters have a pretty tough time in prison, but are there enough data points to compare cannibals? Dahmer was murdered, are there any others?
I'm not aware of any studies on how cannibals fare in prison! Such a thing would probably be difficult to do, as most known cannibals end up being declared insane and put in hospitals rather than prisons. I've always considered it a bit of a farce that Dahmer was found sane.
The Cannibal! story is based on the Alfred Packer case -- six miners who engaged in cannibalism (some of them did, anyway) in Colorado's San Juan Mountains. The Donner Party was a different, earlier case of a cannibalistic pioneer party in California.

Just for the record, I caught the reference. Didn't think it was worth mentioning, although I do want to go on record as saying that I'm sorry she didn't get the death penalty and die a horrible screaming death.
Sounded like the atypical backwoods Maine accent... like Fred Gwynn's character in Pet Semetary.
And everyone who reads Stephen King knows... STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM MAINE! ;)
Generic "evil, cursed construction" description, I think... I don't think (at this moment, anyway) it was a direct reference to anything.
Yep. All we needed was the Marlon Brandos chasing them around and Kenny's dad getting gangraped. Now that's comedy.

Don't forget about Mr. Garrison in the steam room! And the last time they showed male nudity I believe was the Steve/Gorak episode where he tries to re-freeze himself.

Actually, it was. Matt and Trey used the same template, but changed the color of the wallpaper. Remember, they're doing a good majority of this directly on the computer using software known as 'MAYA.' It lets you do some really cool things...much more than changing wallpaper colors, I can assure you.
In the White Swallow Spa, I thought the attendant told Butters to take cubicle 213, which was Dahmer's apartment number ... but that's *really* fucking obscure.
And the "Wizard of Oz" reference --- the tree at the beginning of the road when Butters looks down the path towards the horizon has facial features. This is from "Wizard of Oz." Though they aren't the first ones to use trees with faces in that manner...Scooby Doo did it from time to time as well.
The thing is, too, that the trees in WoZ actually had lines, and even moved. These trees just had faces. That's the same way Scooby Doo did it as well, save for one or two episodes involving scary psychotic trees that turned out to be Don Knotts or whatever.
