New discussion list for South Park
The SouthParkNet list, a *moderated* discussion list formed to provide a more focused and less anarchistic forum than alt.tv.southpark, came into being last week and is now up and running. To subscribe to the list, you can go to:

For those unacquainted with Internet "lists," basically they are like newsgroups except that everything happens in your mailbox. This makes a list more focused on its topic, because joining to a list requires more effort than just cruising through Usenet, and thus spammers and trolls do not locate these forums as easily. Also, on a *moderated* list such as SouthParkNet, the list owners are able to review postings before they appear, and can remove disruptive or off-topic messages before they see the light of day. In this way, a moderated list can be kept relatively free of spam, trolls, troll food, Kyle's mom, etc.
Complete rules are sent to all list members upon joining, and are also posted directly to the list at intervals. (The rules are NOT intended to be repressive or to create an overly ordered or highbrow environment; members of SouthParkNet can be as silly and twisted as we like, within broad limits. The rules are enforced only to preserve a friendly space that avoids many of the most unpleasant aspects of this newsgroup.)
You can join SouthParkNet in either the regular "single" format (each post arrives in your mailbox as an individual email) or "digest" format (each day's messages arrive approximately once daily in one large email). Switching between the 2 formats is easy, and unsubscribing is also easy in the event you decide the list is not for you.
