Does anyone know what the two Hebrew parts really are? I can take guesses just like the next guy, but I'd like to have accurate info in the FAQ. So, if you know how Latkees and the other one are spelled, post it or mail me or something.

Yiddish is derived from Old Middle German (or somesuch germanic language).

Hebrew is a beast unto itself. Completely different grammar, alphabet, syntax, you name it.

For a long time, Yiddish was the "everyday" language within European (and by extension, American) Jewish communities, reserving Hebrew for religious matters. And may still be, especially among sects such as the Hasidim.

Actually, Hassidic jews did not speak Yiddish. They spoke an old form of Spanish. I forget the actual name of the language.

To clear a couple of things up...

• The Spanish version of Yiddish is called Ladino.

2) The Yiddish in Kyle's song doesn't mean anything. It's like the fake Russian in "Pink Eye".
