This was an excellent episode, it starred a young Bruce Dern and had a very intriging plot line. I don't think they're still being shown anywhere, but if you can rent this one on tape do so. It is an all-time classic and worthy of being spoofed.
To those who missed this series (which was much better than most of the "new OL shows): The misfits were ants with human faces (yeah, right!). They were sent here to Earth and were supposed to stay in the desert. A couple in a car ran the barricade into the zone set aside for them. The idiot guy investigates the space craft, falls down the mountain and gets killed by the lead misfit. The stupid woman checks him out and the misfit leader takes after her. She screams and cries but never thinks of something like hitting it with a rock, and it just keeps on coming. Finally a guy from the project comes to her rescue with a big rock. The other misfits decide to take off and mount an assault on the project. Death on both sides. The misfits lose of course. Then it is revealed that the misfits were sent here because the Zantians cannot execute their own, and we are "experienced executioners." My favorite Zantian word: "Tran-zini."

The Zantis are kind of like oversized ants with demonic faces, and could be nasty sumbitches. Chances are good you can rent the video and see for yourself. Pretty tame and a little hokey by today's standards. But nearly 40 years ago it was the scariest thing ever on television (apart from the news and the Kennedys)
