lame story plots

it seems to me that these latest SP episodes are pure garbage. Where has the creativity gone? Tonights episode was not funny (over all) and disjointed. The boys fighting & Kenny in home ec. were the two most humorous parts. The whole bit w/the Shop teacher didn't belong in this episode at all. I will admit that this episode was definitely better than last weeks. Now THAT was bad!!!

They will NEVER be able to recapture the humor from the first season.

They've run out of good ideas. Most shows that run out of ideas dimply stop making new episodes. In the long run, they will have WISHED they'd have stopped making episodes and left on a high note.

Horrible. The whole thing was a thinly veiled, self-serving slam against the Star Wars movie. What a massive waste of time and resources. If the show doesn't shape up soon, it won't survive the rest of this season.

This is the problem with programmes like SP; I've thought this to myself for some time.

There are only so many original plots that can be used in SP, and once you've run through them all you either have to recycle old ones, or get increasingly way-out and outlandish. Bearing in mind that here in Britain Channel 4 is currently half-way through series 2, and the first few episodes from that season are coming out on PAL-SECAM VHS, we here don't know what's to come in series 3 yet. But the first two seasons are brilliant, I must say.

My fear is that SP will soon get past its sell-by date, and peter out through duff stories or declining audience figures. If anyone from Comedy Central is reading this, I honestly think--much as it pains me to say this--that it would be better to kill it off while there's still some life left in it. How much life there still is in it; how much longer it can sustain decent programming, only the guys at CC can say. That way its legions of fans will still have the released episodes on video to cherish, and the scope for long-term repeats on TV would be better with three decent (or mainly so) series than any number of crap ones. If the quality goes, quantity counts for nothing. As Don't said, better to end it on a high note.

I recall hearing that Matt and Trey signed to do 3 years of SP, but I don't think they can, or should, try to make it that long. The Jakovasaur episode was really weak, but I did like the last one because of the fighting plot. They need to dig into the kids being 8 years old again. The thing that appealed to me about the series was that they usually had an authentic feeling of confusion and wonder about the world. Now it just seems like they are college juniors in kids bodies.
