Southern Park County, Colorado

Okay, guys, I've checked every single, tiny speck of a town in Colorado and can say, with confidence, that the actual town of South Park doesn't exist. There's not even a South Park County. There is, however, Park County, to the southwest of Denver. Below is a complete list of towns in the southern part of this county:

Hartsel, Balfour, Trump, Guffey, Lake George, Antero Junction, Platte Springs, Tarryall, Garo.

There is also no North Park or Middle Park. My guess is that the guys named South Park for southern Park County, North Park for northern Park County and Middle Park for the area in the middle of Park County, since they both grew up in that county. Just some information I thought I'd pass along, don't kill me for doing the research. :-)

Last month a news paper down here had an article about a town called "Fairmont" near Denver, Colorado.

One of the producer (either Trey or Matt) spent teenage years there and went to the school in that town which inspired him. The town "South Park" is just a "estate" within that town, I haven't got the article with me right now , I will check with you if I can find the article.

But do check if there is any town in Colorado start up with the name "Fair"

Also the same article said town floks in Fariplay weren't appriciate the show very much because the show attract some nasty tourist into town, vandalised some buildings(knock out some bicks/tiles for soverign!).

Afterall, it is a friendly town without temptation!

That's where one of the producer spend his teenage years. There is a new estate(well , new in the 80s) called "South Park" within that town I don't think the estate shows on the map, according to the article yopu have to be local to know where SP is. But "Faripaly" is where South Park base on.
