I'm *probably* gonna launch a moderated South Park mailing list, in an effort to salvage what's good about this group. I'm gonna try to get the list set up by Wednesday 9/23, so that we'll have the 3 upcoming consecutive fresh SP episodes (23rd, 30th, 7th) to provide ample and continuous fuel for at least 3 weeks.
This will definitely NOT be an attempt to divert attention from ongoing efforts *within* the group (such as Cyberwolf's unselfish decision to recompile a decent FAQ). Furthermore, I don't even know if it'll work. But it's worth a try.
If you think you'd be interested in partcipating (responsibly) on a moderated SP list, please email me. Since the last time I posted this invitation (barely 3 hours ago, but tacked onto the end of another post), I've received several positive replies, so evidently there is at least *some* interest. Whether it's enough, I can't say just yet.
Note: While this would be a moderated/restricted list, it would NOT be a stuffy, snooty forum for intellectuals or pretentious twits. That is, we'd have rules about content and posting, but I'd hope the list would be just as twisted as South Park itself, if not more so. It'd be a space where we could hope to talk about South Park & stay relatively free of trolls, troll-feeding, spam, and FAQ-busters.
Let me know. Whatever response I get between now and Tuesday afternoon will determine whether I make the effort at all.
