I too bought the DVD at once. My only disappointment is that there is a dearth of special features: no commentary, no deleted scenes (though the only such scenes I've heard of are the few minutes that had to be cut to move it to an R rating, and I believe Matt & Trey decided the movie was better without them anyway) -- just the trailers (though that was good; I hadn't seen trailer 2).
I have suspicions that there might be a "special edition" down the road with these feature, which would mean buying it again. Dammit! Well, maybe I'll just rent it.
Unrelated note: turned on the French on "Austin Powers" and noted that the guy doing the voice of Dr. Evil does a pretty good job of sounding like Mike Meyers in the role. On the other hand, it seems to be a completely different person doing the voice of Austin.
