Orgazmo?

I saw it at the Toronto film festival last saturday (6'th). It was one of their midnight movies. Trey Parker introduced the film and said a few words. It was very funny. The audience reaction was incredible. It was a bit more raunchy than south park and very funny. The basic plot involves a mormon (Trey) who happens to get cast into a porno movie playing a fictional superhero called orgazmo. The only reason he agrees to be in the film is so he and his fiancee can get married in the temple back in Utah. Matt Stone has a smaller part in the flick as the still photographer for the porno company. Orgazmo fights evil bad guys like Jis Master Zero and Neutered Man with his sidekick Choda Boy. His special weapon is the orgazmatator which shoots out a ray beam that makes whoever it hits have an orgasm. All of this sounds very corny but it was pretty hilarious. One thing leads to another and Trey's character ends up becoming a real life orgazmo fighting real bad guys. The movie has to be seen to be believed. Humor is very South Park like and involves over the top martial arts fight sequences and even has a guest appearance by jesus at the end. The theme song was hilarious. Interestingly enough as Trey commented at the beginning of the film "Sorry Guys but there are no titties in this film". Apparently a lot of the actors in it are real porno actors. I can't wait till it arrives on home video. Brian

I wholeheartedly agree with your comments. I was so blown away by the showing on the 6th that I also went to see the second showing on the 8th (call me crazy). Similar audience reaction: great movie, great laughs!

I asked Trey if a South Park movie is in the works and his response indicated that there have been talks, but he didn't confirm. Also, he let on that his contract includes 22 episodes (typical TV contract) so it seems that Comedy Central may have already extended beyond the initial 13. Yay!

Apparently, Orgazmo has been picked up so you should see it at a (bold) theatre near you soon.

They had a full page devoted to the Toronto film fest in the Life section of USA today 9/15/97 edition. In a list of notably movies from the fest there's a brief mention of Orgazmo. It says it will probably achieve cult staus. So I guess real critics thought it was good too. I did find out that TRy Parkers other film "Cannibal: The Musical" is available on VHS from www.troma.com/cannibal.html

Just read in Entertainment Weekly that the Dust Brothers (having survived working with the Stones) are now working on the Orgazmo soudtrack. Primus is contributing.

For those who don't know, Orgazmo is a movie made by Trey (?). It's described as a "Spinal Tap" look at the Pron Industry seen through the eyes of a super hero and his side kick.

Should be fun.
