Mistake in last night's ep

When they were at the scout meeting, the sign said "Troop 69". At the bake sale, they announced that "Troop 47" was having a bake sale.

That was a pretty cool episode last night.

I noticed this too...wasn't sure if maybe it was because 69 was the district number, composed of individual troop numbers though?

Funny, I didn't see one single specific reference to the "Boy Scouts of America" in the whole show. Stan, Kenny, & Cartman belong to the Mountain Scouts.

Your point was that another poster was wrong for suggesting the scouts in South Park used numbers for both troop and district. That could very well be the case, since they *weren't* the BSA.

Actually, my first reaction was that Big Gay Al acted as scoutmaster for several troops, from towns too small to have individual scoutmasters, and that they all just had their meetings together.

My theory is that Troop 69 was Big Gay Al's old troop, as in when he was a little tyke. He put that banner up perhaps as a memento thingie. He seemed to have lots of mementos from his earlier scouting days.

Nah, wasn't really a mistake. Sure, they were Troop 69 with Big Gay Al, but he wasn't with them during their bake sale. So with his absence...
