my ramblings about Spooky Fish (warning: contains spoilers)

Well, I must say that Matt and Trey have definitely not lost their touch. This Halloween episode was not only funny as hell, but had a very clever plot IMHO. It wasn't just a bloodfest like "Pink Eye" (now don't get me wrong, I love "Pink Eye"-it rules!), there was a little mystery regarding the origin of the other Cartman and the psycho fish.

I thought the Spooky Vision thing got old after a while though, but I did like the part when Bab's face came hurtling at us a la "Superfriends".

I liked the so-called "split screen" effect thing when they would show the two Cartmans together, and what is up with Cartman and "hella"? Since when did fatass think he's from the Bay Area? I think I would have died if Cartman had said something like, "Get your f**ing hands of Fluffy! Me and Fluffy are hella tight!" when Cartman 2 was petting the cat.

And okay, what the hell was up with the space ship in the beginning? What's the connection btw that and the story? It kinda looked like the Bat Plane to me.

And just like Randy, I want to know why-why on earth did Sharon removed Officer Barbrady's pants.

Interesting thing regarding Kenny's mom (what was her name again?). She seemed very distraught over her missing son when in Chicken Pox she laughed when he died. Yeah I know, there's a certain lack of continuity when it comes to Kenny :)

And is it just me or did Cartman 2 look kinda like the Gordon's fisherman (hey Greg, kinda like your school mascot eh?) when he brought supplies to Kenny's house?

Yes, this was brilliant, I giggled every time I saw it. The bearded Cartman "Mirror, Mirror" reference was a great touch, too, although given how many Star Trek references there have been in SP so far it gave away the whole "alternate universe" explanation way ahead of time.

Speaking of movie references, the "Indian Burial Ground" bit was a great reference to "Poltergeist," too.

It reminded me of the completely irrelevant dragonfly at the beginning of MiB. Set up a spooky looking device that dominates the beginning of the picture, then throw a curve. I liked it, and assumed it was a reference to MiB in a cartoon I've come to expect lots and lots (and lots) of movie references in.

Other references in the haloween episode include the Charlie Brown Christmas special.....ie, they send kenny out for a pumpkin and he brings back a squash...."Poor little squash, it wasn't so bad after all"
