Working

For some reason, last night I watched the show Working with the kid from The Wonder Years. The episode was about a whole ridiculous sexual harrassment policy in the office. So he was in his boss' office and his boss was saying how all men think about it sex. He disagrees, and his boss asks what he thinks about when he goes to bed, so he says sex. His boss asks what he thinks about when he wakes up, so he says sex. And his boss asks something like what he thinks about when he gets home from work, and he says: "My dog Sparky." Possible South Park reference or just coincidental. Either way, I laughed.

Must be a SP reference. I don't think anyone else has ever named a dog 'Sparky'. Sorry if I sound like a sarcastic mother fucker but if I'm going to read a post that long, I'd just like a little more of a payoff at the end, you know?

FYI: Charles Schulz, of "Peanuts" fame, based Snoopy on his real-life childhood pet, Sparky -- yes, a dog.

I remember a Charles in Charge episode where one of the kids cited Sparky as a generic dog name that any dog would answer to.

But Sparky isn't so common that I know any dogs with that name, just like I never met anyone named "Fred" until I was 18.
