Stereo South Park wavs? To the person who recently posted them to alt.binaries.southpark

This is in part to the person (?) who posted a few stereo south park wavs to the binaries groop recently, and also to anybody else out there who's trying to get good sound caps off the show (me included in that). From what I can tell, SP isn't broadcast in stereo. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the theme song is actually stereo, but the rest of the show is all in mono. I capped the theme and several wavs from the show in stereo and compared the two channels at high magnification... There were definite differences in the theme song wav, but all the other caps from the show were mono in appearance. So what I did was convert all mono wavs to actual mono in order to save space with the caps, but I kept my copy of the theme in stereo. I downloaded the recent posts of stereo files and looked at them, and all of them have no difference between right or left channels, which means that its a stereo version of a mono source. You'd gain space savings and lose no quality by converting them to mono. In the interest of quality, all my caps were at 22050hz and 16 bit samples. This gives almost CD quality with the minimum ammount of space. If anybody else has opinions on the subject, I'd like to hear them. The setup I'm using to do caps is by recording the show on a 4 head stereo VCR off the coax connection from my converter box, then attaching the VCR through RCA cables to my All in Wonder. It works pretty good, though I do get a bit of interference due to some problem in the connection between the raw coax, converter box, and VCR. I tried to do a direct cap from the line going from the wall, through the converter, and then into my AIW TV Tuner, which would greatly reduce loss and interference, but doing that required that I capture the whole episode (20 or so minutes) and then edit the huge file, but when I tried that my pooter heaved up and puked all over the place right at the end of the cap, losing all my data.
