It's Own World

I'm just kinda speaking into the wind here, but if anyone has a response feel free :)

One thing I really dig about South Park is that it is in its own little world. It dips into ours when it wishes, but for the most part it has its own culture. Like, there aren't any goths in South Park. There aren't any people who are just naturally angry for no reason - everyone seems to be angry for a definite reason. And there's no role-player kids or skateboarders or other commone things (at least I think those are common). Yet when I watch I don't notice the absence of those things - there's always something interesting going on to distract me. I see it as having its own functional and bizarre little culture.

You are right... I think Trey and Matt basically just threw in what they were familiar with. The lack of, or inclusion of, those things you mentioned probably wouldn't make a lick of difference, in any case.

That was just an example. And anyway Robert Smith wasn't dressed goth (except his hair as always hehe).
