Why are the SOUTH PARK VIDEOS censored?

Does anyone know WHY the South Park video tapes are censored? My guess is that un-censored tapes of the show would sell better than a PG13 movie. Maybe they could put them out both ways and call the un-censored ones SOUTH PARK TOO HOT FOR TV.

do we need to write to comedy central to release the videos as "uncensored"?

It doesn't matter. When the episodes are mastered, they're mastered with the bleeps....it's just easier to release the eps as they are rather than digging thru the sound file archives and putting the audio back together...
