HE could have do a penis meashering contest with the boys and chef. Cartman mighte win, but I still would take Fartman over the Cartman any day. Stern rules Doc, proud to be an Asshole On Line

You're obviously not the king of all spelling... and while I would love to see him on the show, I certainly don't want to see him shoot a load.

You're obviously too stupid to be allowed to listen to Howard.

Don't be so proud. Seek professional help.

I'd love to see Howard Stern on South Park. I would love to see Matt and Trey nail the bastard to the wall in the fashion he deserves. Like they have for Patrick Duffy, and Tina Yothers, and Barbra Streisand, and Eric Roberts, and...

And they'd do it so very well. :)

For an extra added bonus, I'd like to see Stern get killed in some off-the-wall yet rather horrific fashion. And see the rats turn up their noses at him. And have the line, "Oh my god, they killed Howard!" "You bas... wait..."

Tirya NOT a Stern fan, can you tell? :)

My opinion only - you are entitled to yours! ::grin:: And I wouldn't dare to presume to tell you not to listen to him - I can only say that the few times I've happened across his show (either on morning radio or channel surfing through E!) he has managed to make me dislike him even more.

So I would love to see South Park nail him :)

Eric Roberts is a waste of life. Stern brings a smile ot my face every morning, and fights for free speech. Whether or not you like his material, you should show some respect to the man for putting up with the FCC, who have gone after him alone, and no one else with the heavy fines they've hit him with. It's because of people like Stern that South Park remains on the air. Howard should also be lauded for being one of the few celebrities to stay married to his first wife for over 20 years. How many other celebs can say that?

Well, of course... I just find it difficult to believe you're a South Park fan but you don't like Howard's humour, which is damn near the same thing.

But what does he do that you don't like?

There are more suitable victims... Rush Limbaugh, Jesse Helms, Princess Di, any country musician except Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash, Mel GIbson, Charlie Sheen, Hanson, etc.

I doubt Matt and Trey have even HEARD of Howard... or maybe just recently they may have had some exposure to him... since Howard doesn't broadcast into Colorado.

Trouble is, with the exception maybe of Mel Gibson, these are all like shooting pigs in a barrel. Because there are people (like you, for example) who are fans of both South Park and Stern, he would be a much more appropriate (read: volatile) target. I think.

Um... there was a minor filmic sensation not too long ago called "Private Parts". Do you really think generally media-savvy Matt and Trey weren't aware of this? (Especially what with Stern-boy and Robin making all the talk show rounds?)

No, I find South Park funny. I do not find Howard Stern funny.

(Then again, I don't particularly think T&P are that funny, either, come to think of it - maybe that's the conneciton.)

I'm glad you like him and that he has his fans. I just do not happen to be one of them. I'm not trying to convince you he's not funny, I'm not asking for you to convince me that he *is* funny, let's just realize that we have different tastes where this is concerned and leave it at that, okay? I know I'm not going to change your mind, and I know you're not going to change mine, so we may as well accept that and move on.

Chicago. Mancow. I'd be interested to know what the "fine-o-meter" is on the two of them. But then, I don't care for Mancow, either, so it really doesn't matter to me. There are plenty of other stations on the dial for the morning drive.

"People like Stern" include *anyone* who believes in free speech, who believes in opposing censorship, and believes in the ability to choose. By that definition, there are a lot of "people like Stern". By that definition, I am one of them. But I do not find his brand of humor or his type of radio show appealing. My personal preference. You know... *my* right to choose what I like?

Not really. I don't like the T&P toilet humor that pervaded "Not Without My Anus". If that's all SP was, I would't watch it. By the same token, I like Jim Carrey, but there are parts of his Ace Ventura movies that I detest (like the talking ass, or being "born" out of the back end of a rhino). I'd love to see the special effects in Dr. Dolittle, but I don't know if wanting to see them outweighs having to sit through 90 +/- minutes of ass-sniffing humor. The promos highlighted it, and the reviews reinforced it, and I don't find it funny. Maybe I'll give it a try, I don't know.

There are more types of humor in South Park that I do find enjoyable. I loved the parody of Japanese Mecha films and the oblique reference to one of my all-time favorite movies, "Aliens". I loved Mr. Garrison's nosejob. I love Jimbo and Ned and their perpetual redneckness. I love Officer Barbrady's "not quite getting it". I love Stan, Kyle and Cartman's observations on life ("You know, I learned something today...") I find "Kick the baby!" very funny - it's my startup noise.

And of course, they kill Kenny. ::grin::

None of which is necessarily based in toilet humor or how many times can we overtly refer to sex between commercials.

Just my preference. If you don't share it, that's fine.

Agreed - I'd love to see them nail Rush and Jesse... ::grin:: And I hate to imagine what they could do to Hanson if they really put their minds to it!!!! (And then there are people out there who *like* Rush and Jesse and Hanson, so does that make them right and us wrong? No, just different. Oh, well. Life is full of diversity.) We take our cable packages for granted... alot of folks in the midwest have half the channels we do. Stern's TV appearences were on New York's Channel 9 (which only a handful of cable packages bothered to get) and then on E!, which Stern himself had to wait 3 years to get on his own cable package in Long Island! Heaven's Prisoners is pretty decent and also stars Alec Baldwin, Terri Hatcher,Kelly Lynch, and Mary Stuart Masterston. Eric Roberts is a pretty talented actor but is'nt as good as his sister, Julia. I'm not surprised many of you have never heard of him consideringb much of his work was done before you were born, and the fact that most of his movies were financial failuers and generally fairly obscure to begin with.

Personally, I don't think either one of them can act their way out of a paper bag. (I say this in reference to the atrocious Dr. Who television movie that aired last year which starred the aforementioned Eric Roberts, and which really sucked ass! They should have eaten him in that movie instead!) As for Julia, I think you hit it right on the head. I think the Eric Roberts that was eaten was a TV actor by the same name, and not the movie actor. A guy at work didn't know who the movie actor was, but said he thought there was an Eric Roberts on Head of the Class (which I've never seen).

I agree that lately he has gone downhill. If you go back to his earlier movies you will see he had talent. I think unfortuantely it has withered on the vine and gone to waste.

M & T have more in common with Howard Stern than they have differences. Sure they made fun of Streisand but they also ranked on Kathy Lee Gifford, Howard's arch enemy. When you consider they all consider farting, vomiting, speech impediments, Canada and lesbians to be funny, and then throw in their disdain for organized religion, especially Jesus Christ, you can't help but think that Matt & Trey are BIG Stern fans. (And before you EVEN THINK of stating that pot cannot be classified with a poison I say BRAVO you have figured out the obvious....but have failed to grasp that my argument is against your REASONING, and not an argument that pot should be placed in the same category as these substances.)

2) Pot does temporarily turn you into a babbling, giggling, malfunctioning idiot (as does beer/liquor in large enough doses).

3) Agreed...pot only enhances the asshole in you, it by no means creates one.

This has been a test of the emergency argument system, had this been an actual intellectual debate...none of us would have given a damn.

THE Sandman.

We have to go through this again?

Just because I reinstall my OS, and don't use the same name twice, you forget so easily.

Your point 2 is a bold lie, influenced by years of obscene anti-MJ propaganda. I have been through this debate on this NG before. MJ has NEVER made me giggle, nor does it make anyone an idiot. I can do advanced mathmatics, build several PC's, write all sorts of valid intellectual debates, practice iai-do (Ido), all in the exact same manor and results STONED as not stoned. MJ does NOT turn anyone into an idiot, and does NOT affect the nervous system in the manor you imply. Do I have to go through this every month with you guys here?

There is a simple reflex test one can perform while stoned. Mind you, it involves murder. Swat flies while sober. Now get high, and swat flies again. There should be no difference in the amount of carnage, or the fluidity and accuracy of the blows, if you apply yourself seriously. If you aren't already a clumsy fool, then MJ will NOT make you into a clumsy fool.

I suggest, before you post on MJ, that you research the subject matter. Go to alt.cannibis or the like, and read the FAQs.

BTW, need I remind you that in very small doses, all those 'poisons' you listed can be injested without harm...and that hemlock is an ancient psychotropic substance. Your arguement does not hold up against my will, as I study psychoactive substances. My reasoning is just fine, thank you. And the war for the right to use drugs at an individuals discretion, has only just begun...religious freedom can not, and will not be eradicated, regardless of what the UN and the US want.

I have never, nor will I ever interfere with anyone's right to put whatever they desire into their body as long as the substance will not create a danger (and thats any danger) to an uninvolved third party. For the less advanced amongst us..i.e. drunk driving, surgeons strung out on coke or speed, pilots popping any one of the psychoactive drugs you claim expertise with....well you get the picture. If we are talking about what you do in your living room, bed room, closet, little shed under the house....I believe that is your business. Once again with the sole caveat (read: warning/condition) that NO UNINVOLVED THIRD PARTY be affected. Your buddy puffing, snorting, chewing, drinking, shooting up...next to you is a VERY involved party...the kid that gets run over because some moron thought "I'm OK to drive!" isn't.

You missed my argument as I predicted. Whether this be from a militant need to slam out whenever anyone says anything that is even slightly negative about your "habit/preference/what-have-you" prior to analyzing the argument...or whether you just missed it--I don't know nor does it really matter since the result is the same. My point was simply that you cannot use the "you have never _____ therefore you can't knock it" argument. And if you have EVER been capable of an intellectual debate, you would understand the inherent flaws in such an argument. I picked well known poisons as an example since it could be understood by a broad section of people. And as to your "small quantity" theorum, that is REALLY stretching since it takes less that 50mg of cyanide to kill a 180lb human. Just as a point of reference...that little Tylenol you take contains 500mg of whatever pain killer they use (I do not claim to be a pharmacist). But sure...you are right that small enough quantities won't kill you, but for some odd reason...I'd just as soon not test the theory.

Before you start a "MJ is great...its medicinal....it should be legal...you are stupid for not using it!!" flame, re-read this post and realize that I am supporting your right to smoke pot in your own home if you wish. I just dont wan't you doing it when you can negatively effect others.

And furthermore...this whole thing started because you put forth a poor argument for your position...whether I ever "toke/smoke/puff/term of choice" doesn't mean I cannot make a sensible, logical argument about my position. To claim such is to also say that as a society we can't "knock" rapists, murderers, or even bad politicians who can't keep it in their pants until we "walk in their shoes"....and you seem too rational to be suggesting such non-sense. And regardless of whatever "gut reaction" argument you decide to throw at me...the "you can't knock it till you try it" argument NECESSARILY comes to this.

THE Sandman

No I did not miss your point. And I did not put forth an invalid argument on my stance, because my stance is soley with 'drug' use. Not rape, not poison, nor any other thing. Your point is valid, but only from the approach you are using, and not in the reality of life as it is lived. I am dead set on arguing any attack on MJ, but as you point out, you don't attack the right to use, but you did slander the effects of the high. My many contention was with the ill effects proposed by members of this group. There is no humor in the lies about MJ, not because of personal taste, but because of decades of repression. It is very much like 'nigger' jokes, to the 'Negros' of the slave era. I assure you, a slave does not find the position forced upon him to be humorous.

I simply won't take the position you propose, because I am a warrior on this path. I am ready and willing to die for the basic right for all humans to use any psychoactive substance they so choose. There is war going on, a world wide war. A *real* war, where people are murdered, molested, tortured, and imprisoned every day. The time has simply come to force all people to grasp this reality. The reason there has been no legalization, is that those who do not use 'drugs' or express themselves religiously with altered states of conciousness, do not care about the issue at all. Well, it is time to make them care, by any means necessary. I risk my very life and freedom every single time I purchase and use MJ. And it is a harsh reality I live in, to be hounded by governmental terrorists, that will not hesitate to kill me, beat me, and destroy my life. I live in these brutal conditions of this governments making. So I will never back down from the 'drug' issuse, and never appologize for defending the right to use. I will shove this issue down the throat of all people, even if they refuse to listen. It is time to take the war to the masses, not just the select few, the cast out, the abused, and the oppressed. This *is* war. Which, of course, means I am also ready and willing to take life in the defense of myself and humanities right to free religious expression, including the right to simply 'get high'.

Don't go trying to slander my mind now, I am very well versed in who I am, where I am, and what is occuring around me. I have no questions left unanswered when it comes to myself.

I'd attack some of the points you make about *third* parties, but I have no time at this moment.

But then, you would be correct in the assumption that I would attack any previous user of MJ, that came out against MJ. This isn't a game, but a very serious agenda.

Clearly your militant stance renders any form of discussion impossible. I wish you luck on your quest but warn you against comparing the banning of a substance with the enslaving of an entire race...you are going to make enemies that way. Otherwise, "do whatever floats your boat", so long as you make no attempt to tip mine.

THE Sandman

Yes, the list of the oppressed is a long one. The flames still lick the legs of the witch bound to the post, and the aggressors won't stop with just my submission, you shall be demanded to bow your head as well. One boat isn't enough for the greedy, those that seek to take all our boats, and then rent them back to us in mass restriction.

Discussion is not impossible, it is merely something to do between the points of activity. What counts, is what we perceive, not in how we deal with those perceptions.
