I know that this has probaby been said before....
and I really like the first two season DVD's
and commentaries can sometimes be very dull/dumb..
But, it really is hard to justify $40 for these shows without the commentaries. Yes, DVD's are great, and you can easily get to the episode you want, and the picture and sound is nice and clear and all... but, to me, commentaries are one of the features that really make the purchase of shows that are still being broadcasted worthwhile.
And if Tre and Matt are really 'protesting' the fact that they can't say what they want... the truth is that they're only hurting one group... and that's us, the people that buy the DVDs. If they would say, "well, we're giving you commentaries, but we're really not saying what we'd like", I'd appreciate that more than what they're doing now.
Even silly comments on the first set, like "Hey, there's Butters" during a scene where Butters, who wasn't even introduced in the series yet, shows up in a crowd scene, are nice to hear.
