The title says it all. Which SP could you show a person who never saw it before.....and cause him or her to turn against the show for life?

For some reason, my dad was offended by the Pig/Elephant episode.

Around Christmas time, I was feeling particularly cruel and decided to show the Christmas episode (Mr. Hanky) to my mom. Ahhhh...she was disgusted, and yet, every time the show has been on since she turned it on...hmmmm....

Rob email should be sent to [email]

I would start off with the SP Xmas short followed by Mr. Hankey. Mite as well hit 'em hard right off. If they can't take that then they're just not worthy.

Starvin Marvin is certainly about as offensive as it gets. I virtually NEVER get offended by entertainment (well, except the movie "Speed"), but for some reason I was fairly close to being offended by this one.

I thought it was hysterical, but my offensiv-o-meter was in the red and beeping pretty loudly.

If replying via email, do yourself a big favor and remove the exclamation point from my address.

I've gotta agree with this one.. my dad would get pissed if I said 'hell', but my mom has never even noticed, even when I use words like 'cunt' around her. She's totally indifferent to it. Weird.

I have shown the Thanksgiving episode to several people and they've laughed a LOT at the show. Sally Struthers, Cartman, Principal Victoria, fried chicken and side of potatoes.....lots o' laughs. definitely a good "first episode".

Well, the two girls who live in the apartment next door popped in as my girlfriend and I were watching the Mr. Hanky episode. One of them is Mexican. I felt like such an asshole when Mr. Garrison said, "Can we get rid of all the Mex-i-cans?" I really felt stupid, and she left after the commercial break saying she was tired and head to get to bed. Oof. I hope she got the idea that jokes like that make fun of people like Mr. Garrison, not Mexicans.

I felt like such an idiot when they came over. It was a surprise visit, and my girlfriend and I were, well, how shall I put this? We weren't in any condition to receive a visit from the neighbors. We must have looked like idiots, sitting there laughing our asses off at a piece of human shit jumping around and leaving shit stains everywhere.

Oh, well.

Satrvin' Marvin -- I say this because I watched it at a student lounge at the University of Chicago. Halfway through I overheard someone behind me complain about the show (ironic, considering he stayed through that episode and the one immediately following). I felt sort of bad about laughing at the crass imitations of blacks in that episode; the only blacks to ever speak in SP are a line cook who beds countless white women and a clicking kid in a diaper. I though I should maybe keep my laughter to myself, and not give credence to this crude (but damn funny) display. During the final commercial break, I heard more complaints, which made a part of me (negligible, but who cares?) feel bad. I looked up to see if there were any blacks in the crowd. Maybe I could ask them how they felt about all of this. After all, if blacks aren't offended, then why should that episode be condemned? To my immediate horror, however, I discovered that I was the only one. At that point, I thought 'I don't have to help no stupid white people - screw dem!' and kept laughing.

Probably the one about killing Grandpa.

An Elephant Makes Love to a Pig

My mom came in the room RIGHT when Cartman was saying "Hey, woman, you get yo' bitch-ass back in the kitchen and bake me some pie!" one time and she didn't like it one bit.

A good first episode would be Starvin' Marvin or Death. My dad laughed like hell when he saw Cartman Gets an Anal Probe, during the "I love to singa!" song. hrB
