Any other sound sites?

If anyone can help me here, I'd be much appreciative.

I started out at Sheepbalz and then (after its closing) made my way to beef-cake and, once I found it, couldn't shut up about how much of a kick-ass sound site Taison and Co. were running.

But that has all changed.

I completely understand and defend their right to run their site any way they see fit. But the change in sound formatting and decision to shut down the mirror sites have made it impossible for me and the ever-growing community of WebTVers to play SP sounds.

Yes, that's probably a consequence of choosing to stick with WebTV and its limited capabilities.

Enough with the speech and on to the question: are there any other sites out there which are still current and use the "old-style" wav format?

There shouldn't be any difficulties for you to listen to the new style sounds even if you use WebTV. It's just a matter of setting it up to download the sound rather than play it right away. It's not too difficult I believe, but then again I can't be sure since I don't have WebTV.

The newer way also saves on the size of the files which is both beneficial to you and me.

The mirrors also weren't doing their jobs and nobody went to them anyways.

Ah, the big roadblock. WebTV doesn't download. Only option is the play-right-away.

Thanks for the response. They've promised us some sort of improved sound arrangement for some time, but I've stopped waiting.

That's unfortunate. I'm sorry that you can't download our sounds, but hopefully WebTV will see that they need to make changes.

Thanks for your support of our site in the past though. :) I hope you find a way of getting the sounds soon. :)
