I just watched South Park 1005, "A Million Little Fibers," and it was so hilarious. The way Matt & Trey play on vacuous pop culture and I've been waiting for them to pick on Oprah, I can't stand her or that Dr. Phil quack she promotes (I hope M&T rip him a new asshole in the near future).
I think I'm Towelie, I get high all the time and think I'm smart when I'm stoned (though I took an online IQ test once when I was stoned and scored 149). In fact I just took a hit and have a great idea: I want to sell little mini sound devices where you press the several buttons to generate Towelie catchphrases like "wanna get high?" Priced at about $5, I could easily sell them to all the stoners in the park.

Weird because everyone I know, everyone on the South Park message boards, and even Matt and Trey agree that 1005 was the worst South Park episode ever made. It was pointless, boring, and dumb. Matt and Trey have admitted they hate the Towelie character, they think he's their worst creation ever (the Crab People being a close second).
The epsiode wasn't to pick on Oprah at all, you misunderstood. 1005 was pointless, humorless, and dumb because Matt and Trey were telling Comedy Central to go fuck themselves. CC wouldn't air the Mohammad image, pulled the Scientology episode, and have pretty much stifled Matt and Trey's creative freedom. So they said, "Fine, Comedy Central, you want to censor what we create? We'll show you how stupid and boring we can make this show." The plot follows a story called "A Million Little Pieces" by James Frey, which I'm quite sure you've never read. But... finally and absolutely, the only reason they really made this episode is because the day after it aired was 4/20 - and they knew they could make the stupidest, shittiest episode ever because everyone watching would be stoned...
As astutely hilarious as Matt and Trey are, this episode was quite obviously below their normal level of humor. I learn something from almost every episode of SP. I laugh at EVERY episode of South Park. Not 1005. I didn't laugh or learn, I almost fucking cried. But I still think its great that Matt and Trey shat on Comedy Central - I can't be mad at that.
In 508, the Towelie episode, Cartman says Towelie is "The worst character ever." Which is exactly what Matt and Trey think. And I do too. But they had to cater to their primary demographic - silly ass stoners like you - who they KNEW would blindly follow the Towelie character cause of his predictable and repetative catch phrases and constant intoxication. Dumb.
In fact, your last statement seals the deal. It's not the first time I've heard a Lame-o stoner have this epiphany that a Towelie quote generator should be sold. And your thought, and the same one a thousand other stoners have had, is EXACLTY why Towelie was created.
In 805, before a commercial break, a fake commercial is played. The commercial advertises Towelie T-shirts. There are T-shirts that say "I love Towelie" for people who love Towelie, and there are T-shirts that say "I hate Towelie" for people who hate Towelie. It also shows a Towelie towel which looks like Towelie and says some of his catch phrases (this is the basis of where "your" idea started). The commercial assures the audience that the towel is not available, but will be sold soon. The commercial shows the large amount of planning that was put into the episode, and is a shot at deliberately marketable characters in television shows.
So you LOVE Towelie, and so do your Hippie stoner brethren. But the rest of us think he's fucking retarded. So go grab your bong, take a hit, and go impress yourself with another high score on an INTERNET intelligence test. Here's what a 149 IQ buys you :

To put a cherry on my sundae, I'd like to direct you to the Season 5 South Park DVD set. Episode 508 has a wonderful commentary by Matt and Trey. They discuss, mainly, their disdain for Towelie. And how ridiculous he is.

I never claimed to have a sense of humor. Curious that you attack something that has nothing to do with this argument... But since you mention it - I know I'm about as funny as a small rock. I don't need to deal with something that doesn't bother me. Does being a complete moron bother you?
What type am I? The type that has an analytical and intelligent sense of humor? The type that would prefer a South Park episode that is actually entertaining? Additionally, your association of Minge and Gary with 'brilliance', is ignorant - at best.
First of all, the use of Minge and Gary is exactly what made 1005 the worst episode ever. Every time the two had dialogue, the only image on the screen was Oprah's fat ass or fat pussy. When they talked, there wasn't action or animation, just still images. It wasn't a show, just a fucking chat session. The IDEA of Oprah's asshole and vagina conversing is funny. But the dialogue and way they executed the joke was NOT funny. The episode had moments that made me chuckle. A few funny moments don't equate to a good episode.
Second, Minge and Gary's relationship, however awkward for this to be, is just a mini-parody of characters from a John Steinbeck novel. You probably won't believe that either. As many brilliant cameo characters as South Park has had, I don't see how Oprah's camel toe and brown eye can be anywhere close to the top of the list. My guess? I have a valid opinion/argument... you don't. You have a lot of Hubbub about Matt & Trey Towlie hating... which is true.. I never said they didn't. What my comment was referreing to was that Matt & Trey never said that Episode 1005 was the worst South Park episode ever made. They didn't make that episode as a Fu** You to Comedy Central, and they didn't make it to pander to the lower rung of South Park veiwer.
