The babysitting plot was one of the lamer ideas they've ever based an episode on.
I prefer the original, creative plots, not the rehashes of every lame old sitcom and kids movie ever made.
And how long did it take before the 'turd' jokes went from funny to insipid? Hint: It happened before the first commercial break.
One more question: Who's the genius who thinks catnip is a white
powder??

And how long before original becomes insipid? You have to try different things to keep the series fresh. Otherwise the same premise time after time after time becomes stale and boring. Which probably explains why Comedy Central's audience share is heading south.
Lucky us! At least we only get one commercial break. I feel for you guys, having the damn thing interrupted every five minutes. I feel even more for the likes of Rather, Jennings and Brokaw, having the limelight thrust away from them with monotonous repitity.

Did I miss an episode? Does Cartman's mom keep her coke in the catnip box?

Would someboy please fill Dave in on how cartoons have a freedom of reality. When he watched Tom & Jerry, he probably said "Hey, did I miss the ep where Tom took bass guitar lessons?" Is you is or is you aint my bitch, Davey?
I didn't really care that he wasn't killed. But I thought he'd walk on screen during the scene where Shelley's boyfriend was eaten by cats, and some of the cats would pounce on Kenny. Then Kyle and Stan would make a quick cameo, say their lines, and go home.
I thought it would have been funnier if, when the meteor shower started, you hear Stan scream, "Oh my god, they killed Kenny" very very distant in the background
THAT, dude, *would* have sucked big portions of ass. It would have proved that SP was becoming tired and formulaic, relying on such stale cliches to carry it. A programme does that, it signals the kiss of death. Avoid.
This, actually, was almost what happened in #212 tonight. Kenny and Cartman are up the tree, along with that kid with the DVDA T-shirt and all the rest of the gang. Kenny gets trampled on, and Cartman shouts Stan's usual line. Is it me, or was the fact that Kyle happened to be walking along outside at just that minute a bit too much of a co-incidence?

First off, I didn't want it to happen. I was glad it didn't. But I thought it would, that's all. Also, it wouldn't have proved that South Park is played out, because it would have existed to poke fun at the show's own repetitive nature . . . mostly.
Hee hee!

Yes, but you can only use poking fun at yourself as an excuse for a lame, repetitive plot (or lack thereof) for so long. The audience figures will tell you when you've crossed the line. "Warmer." "Colder." Etc.

I don't know who first wrote it, but I still think that the ONLY way to have Kenny die off in this one would be to show the meteor shower from afar, and after one distant impact, we'd hear a distant "Omigod, it killed Kenny! You bastard!!" Just off the wall and out of nowhere.
When Cartman was watching Aliens, Kenny could have been killed by one of the aliens in the movie. Then Cartman could have said, "Oh My God! They killed Kenny!"
Also, as someone else has suggested, Kenny could have also have been killed by the cats.
OK, that would have been a plot device of a fictional killing in a fictional show based on the fictional "real life" of SP. MY GOD! THE LOOPING! A killing of a guy in a fictional show within a fictional show where the character is killed almost every week except Christmas!! AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get me my "Gdel Escher Bach" book!
No, THAT would have sucked. The whole idea of him dying in this ep HAS to be something that is completely unrelated to what happens to Cartman.
It was the special all-Cartman episode, I guess. But maybe this episode takes place after another episode or the movie so Kenny is still dead and has yet to ressuerect himself as he will undoubtably do by next wendsday.
