YASTR in Fingerbang

Yet Another Star Trek Reference, and no one mentioned it! I'm shocked!

There were SO MANY references in Fingerbang. I think that is what made it such a good episode.

How about the Peanuts reference?? Did you see Schroeder playing piano for the try outs? That almost made me spew cheesy poofs all over my TV.

Come on, that had to be Schroeder. The playing piano pose was exactly the same, and I have never seen anyone playing a piano like that, real or animated. Finally, the hair of the character matched Schroeder's.

Yeah, both the hair and the posture were as close to an exact match as you could get. I originally wondered why they didn't put Lucy in too, but they realized she would have just been in Ike's way. I didn't see the Star Trek reference though, unless it was Butters' outfit.

That was certainly Schroeder. Perhaps it was Matt and Trey's tribute to the late, great Charles Schulz.

I doubt it was meant as a tribute. Schulz's son Monte (if I recall correctly) railed against SOUTH PARK in an interview following the death of Schulz pere.

But the show obviously takes some things from Peanuts, like the way the kids eyes get lines around them when they're shocked or worried, like in Peanuts.
