Are there any SP fans in Germany?

Did they show "the Passion of the Jew" in Germany? I'd be surprised if "weir mussen ze juden ausrotten!" was allowed to be broadcast?

Not yet. Right now, we're looking forward to the first airing of Season 7, which is due to start in September.

I'm pretty sure they aren't going to pull the episode altogether. We have an understanding of satire, after all.

If there are any actual swastica symbols shown or some such, they will be removed, as there is a law against that sort of thing[1]. Maybe Cartman's slogans will be altered in some fashion, I don't know.

I wonder, however, who will remember Gibson's - piece of - something - over here by late 2007.

That's why I don't think SP airs in Germany. Just about everything SP does is sure to be in violation of some German law that forbids offending any particular group. Also, SP depicts swastikas and that is prohibited in Germany, not to mention the show picks on Germans themselves which I would assume is a crime if picking on any other ethnic group is also a crime. Finally, Germans have no sense of humor at all, so even if a waiver was granted and Germans understood the incessant American cultural references, they would not find it funny and would probably have the TV station staff gassed.

Anyway, are all those references to Germans left? I remember that the "BLU" had exchanged Germans with British people when it came to the "Scheissenvideo" (or however you spell it). I've heard that other cultural references in other countries are usually flipped when "South Park" airs in a particular country that is being the butt of jokes.

On the other hand, I hardly can think of any other nation that may be laughed at when Carman dresses himself up as Hitler...

Simpsons is the show that picks on Germans - with "Oooter". Fat kid eating chocolate with leiderhosen with a dumb accent. That's cheap humour, sooo cheap. That's Simpsons all over really. Thoughtless cheap animated opiate pour le masses du jour.
