There not a point they've made through the show that i've disagreed with yet. Hate crimes, media sensationalism (terrorism and child abduction), religious extremism, tolerance and intolerance, compensation lawsuits, etc. all have been approached exactly right to my mind. Do you not think political correctness is starting to verge on fascist? Do you not think that hate crime laws simply serve to separate and reinforce differences? Do you not think that people suing each other is gradually destroying society? I think the messages they give have all been right so far, and by putting them amongst humour they become possibly more powerful.

Liberals tend to take these things as personal attacks because they spend their entire lives looking for discrimination and similar problems to attack.

Disagree. Liberals (as defined by the post-1960s era) believes in a policy that states they, and only they, have a vision for the country. And why not? They were the changers of modern society (i.e. diversity, progressive, etc.) to a more enlightment age.

The problem is that they are so used to be correct on so many things, that they cannot be seen as making a mistake on anything. You couple this with the apparent activism that insist that the American people must not only tolerate other beliefs, but you have to accept them. Or you are a bad person. With these bullying tactics to get their way (especially in regards to that West Coast Long Shoreman strike), coupled with the fact that liberals traditionally want to tax and spend in matters of social programs, the Republicans are seen as the lesser of two evils. Remember, it is the perception that matters the most (which is why Clinton survived the impeachment heraings, since the Republicans appeared to be the bully in that fiasco).

I'll give you a perfect example as to how the Democrats lost big. San Francisco, CA, the most liberal city in the country, voted to restrict benefits for the so-called "homeless", after:

a) found out that the city LOST millions of dollars (but refused to be audited), b) tired of seeing the homeless lying about, by using the cash payments for drugs and alcohol, and, c) had the nerve to demand money for housing, but refused to utilize a former military base for such a purpose after bulldozing almost all of the former military homes (but gave the land to special interest groups).

Basically, the American people are tired of this hypocracy (which is why the independent votership has increased substantially over the years). And, for the first time in years, there will NEVER be a solid base for either political parties, thus giving each party equal chance for dominance. It is interesting to note that there was a study done recently that the Republicans are in the position to influence an entire generation of voters, which has the Democrats in a panic mode. Becoming MORE Liberal will not help the Democrats, especially since the Republicans are now using their rival's own playbook.

I haven't, and i respect what they have done for the US, the UK and the rest of the world. However, it is going too far the other way in many cases. To a large extent (although not fully i admit) equality has been created and many liberals seem to be at a loss for what to do now, so they keep on the same agenda. This is why we have some feminists who are not looking for equality, but for female domination. We have to stop feeling guilty about the actions of our forefathers and look to the future, all working together.

Speaking from a UK perspective, we do have a problem with the 'fascism of tolerance' as it is now stifling debate. Under our labour government (which is, in reality, as (centre) right wing as the Conservatives right now) debate on issues such as immigration is blocked, since every time the tories mention it they are accused of being xenophobic, right wing, fascist, etc. The conservative party right now is an ineffective opposition since they don't dare to say anything for fear of being branded bigots.

The media (and the BBC in particular) over here does have a strong left wing bias (look at the people who run the beeb) which doesn't help either. I exclude the people at sky in this last comment!
