Is it: The number of swear words in the show?(hehehe) The mean and arrogen Cartman? The charming Wendy?? (hum!) The funny story line? Animation? The songs of Chef? "Kick ass" Kyle? Stan? Or you want to find of what's behind Kenny's orange jacky??

The first episode I saw of SP was WAYYY back at the original airing of "Volcano." I was watching it, my friend said it was cool, and after the fist two minutes, I was hooked. I think the thing that most intersts me is... uh... I gues the interaction of all of the characters in the show. And it reminds me a lot of *my* third grade life >:)

Ok, the true story of how i got into South Park.... I never got to see it till it was aired on terrestial TV in the UK, but i'd heard about the show before, and I used to listen to some guy on Talk Radio called Nick Abbot (he doesn't work on Talk anymore, that sucks) and he was a major fan of the show, and he was always on about it, so when it came to Channel 4 i watched it and was hooked :)
Nick was South Park obsessed, he was always using South Park clips as sound effects, like Cartman saying "son of a bitch!", Stan saying "that kicks ass!", etc, etc, and he was always playing the Kyle's Mum's A Bitch song
Here it is, the story of my South Park-dom:
I didn't even get to see South Park until Mr. Hankey. Beforehand I had heard a lot about the show, and I knew the gimmick about Kenny dying every week. Everyone who talked about it said it was brilliant. When I turned on my first eppie of it, I agreed. I launched myself at the computer and began reading every script up to the one I had seen. At my best friend's birthday party we started talking about it and that's when I knew: I was obsessed. In April, I found this newsgroup. During the summer, I found the reason I had always had a strange obsession with the creators. And here I am today.

For me it ocurred in several stages:
Last year, one of the Warez groups had an installer that featured a still picture of "the gang" accompanied by MIDI music and voice clips of Cartman saying "son of a bitch!" and "I would never let a woman kick my ass!".
Soon after, I began seeing bumper stickers, pen sets, and other merchandise.
Since I do not have cable, I began searching for episodes on the Internet. I soon found www.billzouse.com's "South Mall", and began downloading Real Video episodes. The scene responsible for getting me hooked was "dressing like Hitler in school isn't cool" in the "Pinkeye" episode.
Other favorites are:
Cartman's "ants in the pants" birthday party tantrum
Mrs. Cartman's "I know a kitty who is sleeping with momma tonight!" after Cartman calls the cat a dildo
Chef's "Simultaneous Love" song
"What am I doing here? I'm doing Celine Dion!"
Cartman's rantings when the first graders turn the pool yellow
Cartmans tea party
Cartman's 'bitch song" (of course!)
Mr. Hanky "decorates" Kyle's bathroom
The numerous references to movies such as Titanic, Braveheart, Star Wars, ET, etc.
I saw the pilot episode, and BANG! I was hooked. That is one kickass TV show.

AMEN! I first saw Cartman Gets an Anal Probe, and that scene with him tied to the tree with the giant satellite dish coming out of his ass had me rolling on the floor, laughing! I was even crying. He makes the show (and Chef's songs help:))

Its crudeness...the antics and jokes on the show that are just SO WRONG, but so hella funny. All the swearing. Its cynical, yet clever take on society and the world in general. The extremely unusual plots. The fact that they make fun of celebrities. The personalities of the kids themselves...to be honest, I don't really like Stan too much 'cause I think he's pretty boring, but the other 3 boys- you gotta love 'em :)

Totally dude! I mean, take into consideration the personalities of the other kids......Cartman's racist, sexist, all around obnoxious personality; Kyle-the A student of the group who loves to kick his little brother, usually comes up with the bright ideas and the one who almost always gets into fights with Cartman, and Kenny, the most perverted little boy of the bunch who incidentally dies in almost each episode. Then there's Stan, who pukes on Wendy. I dunno-he pales into comparison with the other 3 boys.

I gotta agree, Stan's too nice *LOL* he's always "really learnt something today" and providing more "heartwarming moments" which I think a show like South Park could do without. the nastier the charecters, the funnier they are, theat's why Cartman's so cool, he's a little asshole :)
Nah, Stan actually helps to keep the others as funny as they are by adding a balance between nice and nasty to the show. Without him, I think all of the wise-cracking nastiness would start to get old after awhile. He keeps the show fresh.
