You don't get it. I'm surprised you ever get SP based on that. I played it for my wife last night and she was laughing her head off through the whole thing (especially the horse fellatio scenes). I had hinted at a "Shakesperian" ending and she got it right away and was howling with laugter. (I even had to replay short scenes as she missed them from laughing.) BTW we ain't whatcha call "spring chickenz" either...

Why does everyone have to love this episode. I certainly loved it, and several of my co-workers did also, but others found it too over the top and/or actually offensive. It's a personal choice, and I can see how someone would find it rather out of character for Southpark, which rarely shows any of the boys as evil (or at least as sociopaths). Just because an episode has clever joke or literary references doesn't make it automatically and episode that everyone will love. The Great Expectations spoof was spot on Great Expectations, and had several very clever side jokes, but I found it boring. My hyper-literate friends rolled watching it, I wasn't that impressed. I got the jokes, but they didn't overcome the fact that it didn't have enough of the correct characters for my taste. This is South Park god-dammit! You're all just a bunch of testicle shitting rectal warts anyway!

Not "love," "get."

SP is supposed to offend someone every week or it sucks...

Missed most of the thread but I actually thought that show was EXTREMELY good and partially quite funny. I did not think the possible biting off of the pee pee with the pony part was good and I'm very glad they did not actually go there. I thought it was very good because the red haired snotty rich kid got his comeuppance (wow can't believe I spelled that right the second try.. could not actually find it in the checker either) from of all people, cartman. It was also great since Cartman actually "won" which is very rare for the fat foil of the show.

Rather than many of the south parks which just end abruptly it built very nicely to a total surprise conclusion. Though initially I was feeling angst about possible "male gender hating" outcomes which gets kind of old (especially since such things as granpa getting hit in the "nuts" are still considered somehow funny on Funniest Videos shows, females should try wearing their ovaries outside their body for a while .. there is nothing funny about such things) the twist ending and the fact that cartman really "won" in a way made that probably one of my favorite South Park episodes of all time, truely very dark and different for them.

Yeah I really wonder how on earth that could be close to home.

In that episode, I think Cartman crossed the line from being an amusing little jerk to an absolutely loathesome demented psycho, who killed two innocent people to get his revenge. They've permanently ruined his character.

And it was of no consolation to you that the bullying bigger kid got his just dessert in the end?

Like picking on smaller children is an achievement to be proud of.

The redeeming point about making an episode depicting scummy people is to serve as a reminder that they exist, and to remind us to keep on the lookout for them and not be so trusting. And the bully did get his just dessert in the end.

And what ever gives you the idea that I never had the chance? As long as there are children in the neighbourhood, or at the same school, there are plenty available for the picking. Anyone who picks on those smaller and more vulnerable are just plain scum, no other way around it.

I still wish Cartman hadn't triumphed! He's a turd! A big fat fucking corn-encrusted turd! First thing he does is trot out his "superiority" to the other kids. Just like when he "got his period." He deserves total ragging and no satisfaction!!!!

And the fact that he too is a scammer with his tooth fairy, evangelist, and junk food-selling ploys leaves little reason to have any sympathy for him. But that doesn't make Tenorman any less scummy.

It's not Cartman's meanness or scamming that bothers me. What really gets on my nerves is the times when he is such an incredibly stupid moron. For example, in episode 413- Trapper Keeper, after they stop Cartman's trapper keeper from destroying the world, he goes and gets another one! Or 406 when he searches for mature male friends and joins NAMBLA.

Cartman strikes me as very smart and very stupid at the same time. Trey's a Libra, and this pretty much describes every Libra I have ever known. Sorry to get all hippified and astrological -- I probably wouldn't post this if I'd had more than one cup of coffee.

Cartman's birthday is given as July 1 on the South Park calendar, which makes him a Cancer. That could explain his obesity and love of food. Cancers have a knack for business (smart - money is a form of security, and Cancers love to be secure), but they can be quite childish (stupid), and so the two sides of Cartman.
