Normal behaviour?

Sometimes I see the odd message by BitchMom saying "Don't post binaries!" or sometimes someone else's message with some text then nothing, and please replying asking them not to post binaries. This also happened with the first "joke", and I didn't get to read it. I read all of the other ones, but can someone tell me what the hell is going on? Is my ISP blocking binaries and rude jokes?

Sounds like your news server is dropping posts. It happens to many people. Where it is possible that your news server filters the binaries, it's not likely that it's filtering rude jokes.

Oh. I also tried to post a text file attachment - three times, and none of my posts appeared on either my news server or Dejanews. It was only a 1K text document! Could my server have taken this to be binaries in a non-binaries group or what? (Sorry I know this is off-topic but I need to know!!).

Yep. Any attachment is a binary regardless of size. As far as I know, Dejanews doesn't carry binaries.

It is possible that your ISP is filtering binaries.(Mine does)
