Does anyone else thing that the "Big Scary Monster" looked like the "Shadows" (whose real name is over 100 sylables, and impossible to pronounce, and believe me, I've tried)?
Now that's what I call a sticky situation.

The Shadows are much shorter, and can turn invisible. And they tend not to eat people.
I wonder, though, if the aliens who abducted Cartman are agents of the Shadows? Or, if he underwent any Psi-Corps conditioning while he was away? He acts a lot like post-abduction Garibaldi, and even sort of looks like him.

I think that he has had a "Keeper" attatched to him. Which explains his increased apatite. He is feeding for two.
