As a former Catholic priest-wanna be, now a staunch atheist, I figured I'd point out some religious inconsistencies with the whole Wendy/Mary scene in the Xmas episode:
If you follow the theology of the book of Genesis, Eve was responsible for bringing sin to the world in the form of knowledge. This was a good way to keep women down in the Old Testament times, as it was all their damn fault for believing the serpent in the first place.
As a consequence of their curiousity, God punished Adam and Eve with Original Sin. Although it did not say it explicitly in Genesis, one of the consequences of original sin was mestruation and labor pains (somehow, I picked this out of a theology textbook some time back).
In order for a woman to give birth to the Son of God, she had to be pure of heart and spirit to receive the seed (jeesh) of God. Therefore, she had to be born without original sin. What this meant was that Mary was the first person to be born without original sin, which was some serious genetic manhandling since both of Mary's parents were born with it. I guess of you look at in from a Mendelian perspective, and consider it as a homozygous result of a heterozygous cross...
sorry, was I ranting? Now back to it:
Anyway, if we belive the teachings of theology, since Mary was born without original sin, she was spared the pains of labor. Thus it was literally a POP, and IT'S IN THERE! type of birth, since she was spared the pain of childbirth in exchange for giving birth to the Son of God. After talking to some women in the know, this would seem to be a fair trade-off...
So, had Trey and Matt done their theology homework, they would have known that Wendy did not have to go through the labor with all the moaning and so forth, although I don't think the scene would have had quite the impact it did.
A couple other things:
I think during that scene, when Baby Jesus Fetus popped out, Kenny was saying "Glory to God in the Highest" while wearing the angel wings.
Trey and Matt are masters at teaching us a lesson. Even though they gave us what I would consider the most irreverent half hour of television in history, they taught us some good lessons, not the least of which is the lonely Jesus birthday song, which symbolizes poignantly if not satirically the loss of the Meaning of Christmas. Although I'm not religious, this should get a thumbs-up from religious-minded persons if they could get through their Pat Robertson-brainwashed minds long enough to see the meaning behind that scene, which someone apparently thought was insulting and blasphemous. It was a harsh reminder of a modern truth.
I've already wasted enough bandwidth on something which I'm sure will get the SFW-type of response, but I needed to get this off my chest.
